Chris Imler, standing drummer, dandy with offbeat and “grand seigneur of the Berlin underground” accentuated countless Berlin music affairs (The Golden Showers, Die Türen, Peaches, Soffy O, Jens Friebe, Oum Shatt, Driver&Driver and many more) and has been playing the stages of Europe as a solo artist for a decade. The kinetic magic of his wicket-playing style makes him the voodoo priest of Berlin’s music scene.
As befits an avant-gardist, the person of Chris Imler is an integral part of his work. His aura oscillates between eternal street boy and dubious magician and stands for a longing for an uncompromising, glamorous, crazy, but at the same time somehow uncorrupted life, alert to any bullshit. The journey into the abyss can be an adventure, and a better companion is hard to wish for.
