- Manni Dee returns with another unmissable Silk + Steel night at FOLD on Saturday April 27th. Continuing his mission to present nonconformist lineups that champion eclecticism and diversity, the event fuses together a global sonic palette for a night of groundbreaking sounds within the walls of London’s most infamous club space. Expanding on his multi-genre vision of electronic music, Manni Dee’s curation draws from a sincere appreciation of subculture across various diasporas. From electro to industrial, club to noise, and far beyond, Silk + Steel 003 presents wide-ranging sonics alongside each other to celebrate the moments at which ideas overlap, committing to a collaborative attempt at exploring the peripheries of genre and style. Linking up for their first ever B2B, Manni invites Georgian DJ and producer Salome - a force of nature in the booth. Known for a fluid mixing style that is heavily grounded in electro and breaks, whilst dexterously jumping between multiple other styles, her unbridled optimism behind the decks has afforded her a dedicated fanbase and regular slots at some of the world’s most beloved clubs. South London based party-starter re:ni brings her impeccable blend of sounds to the booth. From cavernous dubby echoes to hectic breaks and pretty much everything in between, her recent production discography spanning Timedance and Ilian Tape should give an idea of the breadth of flows we're dealing with here. Governed by a visceral connection to sonic frequencies, her mixing style is highly instinctive and unrestrained by genre. As one of the core members behind another essential London club space - Venue MOT - mi-el merges a vast pool of influences into a genre-hopping, speed-bending style of mixing that is everything Silk + Steel aims to protect. Finally, having spent many years living across different continents, and drawing upon both her British-Asian background and an education in classical music and jazz, Riva has forged an understanding of electronic music that is grounded in protest and storytelling, connecting the dots between seemingly disparate narratives to arrive at a message of unity and emancipation on the dancefloor. 21+ event.
