The omnipresent force in Drum & Bass, Metalheadz, hosts it’s first UK club residency since the epochal takeovers of The Blue Note in the mid 1990s— a crucial part of the evolution of UK dance music.
A label, party & collective founded (and still run by) the charismatic British icon, Goldie, Metalheadz will host a total of 5 nights in the spring - four Fridays and one Sunday in March & April. These nights will invoke the spirit of The Blue Note eras. Championing the emerging generation of DnB and jungle beats - as well as the resurrection of the forgotten anthems of the seminal Blue Note era - each night promises to be a one-off experience curated by the crew that have build the scene, with all artists committed to boldly mapping a path forward within Drum & Bass.
This is more than just a residency: this is a celebration of the collective spirit that has fuelled the Metalheadz movement through it’s storied history. There will be one Sunday party, a direct tribute to Blue Note Sunday sessions hosted by Goldie himself, as well as two of the classic Metalheadz history sessions and two nights celebrating the current luminaries pushing the scene forward...
It’s thanks to it’s forward thinking creative approach to the music it championed that the Metalheadz Blue Note parties become so more than just club nights. A cultural institution, with influences stretching out into art, fashion and popular discourse. Though Blue Note’s closure marked the end of one era, the British hardcore continuum evolves as prophesied, with new chapters being written as we speak… A new journey through Drum & Bass embarks this April, enhanced by Phonox’s state of the art soundsystem and lighting.
