S.O.N.S [Junction Forest]
S.O.N.S, real name Tim, is pushing the vinyl format throught his adventurous DJ sets and his record store Junction in Seoul, South Korea. Having settled in the city more than 10 years ago, he has been part of the local electronic music community development and is currently resident DJ of the reknowned Ring club, at the heart of the Itaewon District.
With several well received records under different aliases (Dj Jacuzziy, SYO...) and collaborations (Forest Witches, Giorgio Celeste & The Cobra) mostly self released on his own labels , he divides his time between making music in the studio, caring for the customers in the store, and digging compulsively for new yet unearthed music.
S.O.N.SことTim Victorriは韓国の首都ソウルを拠点にキャリアを築いてきたフランス出身のDJ/プロデューサーだ。14年から18年にかけて渋谷・新宿・下北沢・新大久保など東京の都市の名を冠した12インチシングルを続けてリリースし、デトロイトテクノやUKレイヴから派生したアンビエント、ジャングルなどのサウンドをスタイリッシュにまとめ上げた作品で一躍注目を浴びた。そこから現在に至るまで精力的なペースで制作を続けており、ミニマルから派生したモダンなテクノ/ハウスシーンに刺激的なトラックを投入し続けている。
DJとしての活躍も目覚ましく、MagicoやAntworkらが拠点とする韓国の最重要スポットringのレジデントに名を連ねている。23年には6カ国を巡る欧州ツアーの過程で、Craig Richardsがキュレーションを担い、Ricardo VillalobosやNicolas Lutzらも参加するUKの注目フェスHoughton Festivalにも出演した。
さらにソウル市内の新堂洞にあるレコードショップJunctionの運営にも携わっており、新譜・中古ともに時代のニーズを捉えた豊富なラインナップが好評を博している。
22年からは上記の活動から派生したJunction Forestなるレーベルを始動。トランスやプログレッシブハウスから旨味のエキスを抽出したような、濃厚でサイケデリックなトラックを続々と発表している。
