After our sold-out party last month, we are excited to be back at the intimate The Glove That Fits on 15 March with another very Persian (Diasporic) Daze in light of Iranian New year and the start of Spring.
Diasporic Daze presents ‘Persian Daze’ is culture reimagined through a club lens. The Sorna repositioned in a rave. It’s four to the flour with Kurdish base. I'ts tombak tempo in an intimate space. It is a celebration of musical traditions and reimagined identities in a space for the diaspora by the diaspora.
RONISA and award-winning Daf percussionist Sara Fotros will be doing an extended live performance that celebrates dance from south Iran to north provinces, encompassing Rumi poetry merged with electronic rhythms, dreamy tales and polyrhythmic house.
Joining them is multi-disciplinary artist Sooski who is known for her fun, Persian-infused club sets, and HabibTati whose style pushes the boundaries of 90s SWANA music (Middle-East North Africa) & Iranian gher with industrious club textures.
Bespoke Persian sweets will be served in mehmooni style in the upstairs chill and chai room.
