KICK brings underground techno to newly opened DTM in the former meatpacking district of Teurastamo, Helsinki. The soundtrack of this opening party is provided by Kick’s hosts, DJs Jussi Eskelinen & Miia Magia. Welcome!
Jussi Eskelinen is best known for founding the Homotekno project, which brought underground techno back to Helsinki’s queer scene in the 2010s. Since then, he has DJd everywhere from stamp-sized dive bar toilets to warehouses, festivals and big clubs like Kaiku, Ääniwalli, Kuudes Linja, and DTM. With his new queerbaiting and Kick parties, Jussi is excited to have a chance to engage in his passion for playing real techno music.
Miia Magia has been behind the decks already for two decades; from DTM Iso-Roba, Helsinki Pride parade and underground raves in Stockholm to international festivals.
She's been sharing stages with several heavyweight techno pioneers including Dj Hell, Cari Lekebusch, Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann to name a few. By running her own record label, Motto Sono Records she is keeping up the underground culture alive and providing possibilities to artists to release uncompromised music for the dancefloors.
