Who are MOONLIGHTING?
MOONLIGHTING is a party for and by lovers of soulful, spirit-lifting music, run by DJs Marshmello, Leanne Wright and Zakia. The trio have been lighting up the London scene since 2021, celebrating full moon energies and always bringing the positive vibes wherever they go.
Zakia Sewell is a broadcaster, writer and DJ from London. She is a host on NTS Radio and presents radio documentaries for platforms such as BBC Radio 3 & 4, Tate and Boiler Room on music, history, arts and culture.
Coming from the dancefloor to the Mic as a vocalist ft on tracks Tek9, Basement Jaxxs & Roots Manuva an emcee touring extensively throughout Europe & America. To the decks Marsha Smith aka Marshmello is an online radio triple threat. Her long-running NTS Show, Midnight Marauders, is two hours of musical bliss. She also has ventured into Music Supervision working on short films that have won a Bafta in 2023 and another short listed at the Sundance Film Festival.
Leanne Wright moved to London from Canada in the early 90s, during the ‘golden’ years of underground U.K. music - being tuned into this pioneering and vibrant scene for 2 decades has deeply shaped her selections. A resident host on Worldwide FM since the very beginning, she has also produced audio documentaries like Charles Stepney: Black Gold of the Sun and Basquiat: The Gold Griot for the Barbican.
