It’s getting eclectic tonight. Upstairs, the night starts with Chicago’s Ariel Zetina and NYC’s Baltra going b2b, where they’re sure to pit Chicago deep house against downtempo house, lo-fi minimalism against percussive brukdown, and the many factions of club sounds that have shaped their identities. To close we welcome a songwriter, vocalist and producer who has been releasing sensual, downtempo techno-pop/R&B gems for the past decade on the iconic label Hyperdub, Jessy Lanza. Whether she’s performing live or DJing, Lanza never fails to weave lush tapestries of sound that hold dancefloors in hallucinogenic stupors. Down a floor, producer, composer, flutist and DJ Concrete Husband takes over all night. Expect a multi-sensory expedition into a relentless realm of hard grooves, razor sharp textures and undulating syncopations.
