It was a 1995 michael Jackson concert that Osagie, a Philadelphia based DJ, credits with giving him the initial spark to pursue a career in music. Growing up in an environment which fanned his hunger for a variety of musical tastes, he began to listen more carefully to musical genres that would define his current sound. Jazz, Funk, Disco, HipHop, Disco, Soul, House & Techno are all incorporated in his craft.
Osagie digs deep to weave a rich fabric of all of his influences. We are excited to host his Toronto debut at Sounds Good.
Hong Kong born and raised in Canada, Stuart Li aka Basic Soul Unit is a respected veteran of the electronic music scene in Toronto. He discovered dance music through the local college radio stations in the late 80’s and early 90s which were playing Hip Hop, RnB, Reggae, Soca and the new sound of House Music. Stuart brought his versatile sound to local clubs in the Toronto playing across a broad spectrum of nights from soul and funk parties to house and techno events. Stuart has always kept an open ear across a broad spectrum of music where there is a connection and a history behind all the disparate music he plays. He is always looking to the future with a grounded understanding of the past.

With his roots planted firmly in dance music and its branch offshoots, HXF’s ear for syncopated rhythms, lush textures and flourishing beats have bloomed an organic sweet sound. Fresh but familiar. He has a knack for weaving in and out of higher energy and deep feels all in the same set. He’s always in the cut, always prepared.
