- To celebrate such a milestone as five years together we opted for a special afterhour. Extended sets from Blueprint Records regular Rommek alongside Platform 22 head XONO. As an established artist, Rommek has expanded his own sound, carving his way into the current techno and experimental scenes since 2013. His extensive interest in sound design is crafted within the cinematic atmospheres, heavy broken rhythms and electrifying tones found within his productions. Rommek joined the seminal Blueprint Records in 2016, releasing five EPs, gaining remixes from label owner James Ruskin, Broken English Club, O/V/R (Ruskin & Regis) and Makaton, which established his position on the map. Since then, a steady output of releases on Tommy Four Seven’s 47 imprint, Leyla Records, Natural Selection, Mord, Hex and collaborative release with the Spanish duo NX1 has expanded his discography. Since releasing over 15 EP's, Rommek has gained a wide range of noteworthy support, from BBC Radio 1, to many features and reviews in Mixmag, The Wire, The Quietus and Fuze magazine. In 2018 he was featured within the top 100 globally charted artists on Resident Advisor. Furthermore, as a touring DJ, he has played in over 20 countries around the globe. From this, it’s clear that Rommek is driven to continue expanding his capabilities and keep things moving forward. XONO Platform 22 Co-Founder / XONO Invites In June 2019 XONO begun his highly respected, "XONO invites" podcast. The monthly series is a platform which allows him to welcome artists from all over the globe. Engaging in conversation with each artist to find out more about their own inspirations and experiences through their careers so far. With each artist delivering a guest mix which gives the listener a full understanding of their creative part and intentions. Around the same time he meet FLAWS artist who shares similar views on the direction of their music. Through countless conversations a relationship grew between the pair which has lead them both into a long term friendship and partnership. Together they carefully design and curate the sound and vision of their beloved platform 22. A label that has earned its respect for its superb discography and the focus in its direction. All this whilst managing to keep up a steady release schedule on his own platform 22 label and others such as BCCO, 01366, Canticle and Jay Clarke’s BLACKAXON imprint 2023 was a promising year so far his career with community resurfacing and especially with the launch of his new XONO invites event. A series of intimate party’s which he plans to tour around Europe showcasing artists who joined him so far on the radio residency.
