A bit about the vibe and sound inspiration: Vernal Pull: Emerging from the darkness of winter, we celebrate the awakening of the mind and body through the frenetic sounds and movements of the broken beat. The unpredictable genre-bent wavelengths filling the dancefloor will nurture your transformation. Moving through the fog in fluid and uncontrolled ways, you’ll escape the cool waters, pulling yourself onto land, entering the bright warmth of spring. some party deets: Starting at 9pm advance tix available $15 Door $20 after 11PM 725 Main St. Cambridge, MA (Cloud & Spirits) 21+ Visuals by Bricklayer (BOS) A bit about the djs. DJ DEADNAME is a Brooklyn-based DJ/artist interested in dance music as a community-building ritual practice. Understanding the essence of mixing as a form of dialectical synthesis, they are interested in the generative capabilities of the decks when used as a medium for sonic conflict resolution. They are attracted to percussive texture, rhythmic syncopation, and harmonic grandiosity. They are a founding member of TOWER, a bimonthly bass n' drum party at Bossa Nova Civic Club, as well as NC-born music collective PERMISSION. Roiju (Justin Roig), a Miami native, is a second generation Cuban-American Producer, Visual Artist, and DJ. Justin adopted the moniker Roiju in 2014, after getting his start as "CAST" in the online vaporwave scene of the early 2010s. Navigating his way through Miami's music community playing live shows, DJing, and releasing small bodies of work on Soundcloud and Miami label Space Tapes, Roiju debuted his first LP, DEZINFORMATSIYA, in spring 2020, followed by releases on Schematic Music Company, Finesse Trax, Optikal, and Omnidisc. While his forthcoming releases and collaborations highlight the sounds of leftfield club music, his musical roots dig deeply into Miami's often overlooked and buried history of weird electronic music, with heavy influence from "IDM", Miami Bass, Freestyle, Deconstructed Club, and Trip-Hop to which he frequently paid homage to in earlier productions. Jordan Graham: With over five years under his belt, Jordan has already dialed in on a broad yet distinguishable range of sounds that he blends seamlessly into one cohesive structure, reaching in the outer orbits of high-energy UK garage, electro, house, techno, minimal and trance. Jordan is an esteemed affiliate of Boston’s Break-Fast Collective, a dance series that manifests true rave euphoria through bouncing breakbeats fused with pulpous basslines. In addition to Break-Fast, he is also a resident and organizer for the Vertebrae party series—an appropriate fit given his music taste, and the infectious energy he brings on and off the dancefloor. No matter the type of event or anticipated genre of one, it can be assured that Jordan will adapt to any environment, and deliver something special that an audience will not yet know they are looking for. Joe Wilkes: A lifelong Boston native, Joe started his journey as a selector just 4 short years ago. His passion for music can largely be attributed to his mother, whom spent many long nights crate digging vinyl, and early mornings grooving at places like the infamous Paradise Garage. His taste stretches across a broad spectrum of sounds, bringing a versatile flair to everything including groovy old school house, bouncy minimal, cerebral, brain bending techno, and beyond - Oh and breaks….lots and lots of breaks! With a passion for bringing people together by way of music, if he can make just one person dance even a little bit, his mission has been accomplished. Adam Unknown is a DJ and visual artist forging a special sweetness in the dance music scene in Boston. His selections and mixing pulls together all elements of rave, infused with the dramatic queerness he experiences & expresses at any of his nights out. Adam's sets span tempo, genres, and decades of dance music, slipping between the realms of bass, 2step, drums, experimental, and breakbeat, based on a deep foundation of house, soulful vocals, techno, electro, and trance-adjacent body-movers. With ease and playfulness he is able to explore a deep knowledge of club sounds with prowess, both locking in a vibe and stretching a dance floor out. Beyond honing his own artistic practice, Adam is also one of the co-founders and residents of Boudoir, the premier DIY queer underground dance music series in Boston, as well as Break-Fast, Indecent, and Lush. Don’t miss this special night amongst friends and family. There’s zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind. Consent is necessary. If you or a friend feel uncomfortable at any time let one of the dj’s or venue staff know and we’ll take care of it immediately. xoxo
