Thinking of electronic music as a simple soundtrack for a night out is a reductionist way to think about something we love so much. It goes way further than that, and as with many other âbig thingsâ in life, it deeply intersects with us and the world we live in.
Unlike other visual and static art forms, music ventures into uncharted territories, expressing the unseen and unspoken. It carries transgressive potential and eventually becomes an archive that will tell the story of our society. Thatâs why we believe that in a world that treats music just as content going down a pipeline, opening and fostering spaces that allow artists to speak about their world and their concerns is essential.
We refuse to participate in the erasure and censoring of Pro-Palestinian voices and the character assassination of the Palestinian people through media. With this streaming, we seek to empower those who speak against the genocide weâve been witnessing for over 170 days.
While we donât have the political or economic power to enforce the changes we would like to see in the world to witness a Free Palestine, we do think that the power of speech and protest can generate change, and by doing this stream, we hope to bring visibility to those in our local scene supporting the Palestinian cause, inspire those scared to do so to come forward, and also show support to the artists in our community with Palestinian ties and origins.
We also encourage those who identify with the cause to support pro-Palestinian organizations like Doctors Without Borders, UNRWA, Save The Children, and many more, through donations.
