- Kai Alcé is a prime example, someone who witnessed the genesis of Detroit’s electronic musical landscape and strives to keep that spirit alive. For him it is imperative to pass on the lessons he has learned, to create a space where deep soulful vibes can reverberate while honouring the African Diaspora roots of dance music’s culture. Kai was introduced to the “progressive” (the local term for the youth culture of early house/techno) world by his mentor and distant cousin Chez Damier. Chez, along with Alton Miller and George Baker, opened the acclaimed Music Institute where a teenage Kai worked the lights. This put him at the centre of music history in the making as the Belleville Three and their contemporaries molded the Techno template. Although only open for a year the club would be crucial to a generation of Detroit artists, particularly Kai who would champion its legacy for years to come. As one of the pioneers of the burgeoning Southern House music scene, Kai was instrumental in establishing a connection between his new home and Detroit. Austin a’ba-cus Bascom :soul sonic provider Through recognition and credibility, Austin Bascom, has carved a niche for himself as a Producer and DJ within the global dance community. Born and raised a Londoner, Bascom has performed as a DJ at numerous clubs, lounges, radio broadcasts and music conferences within his adopted homeland of Toronto, Canada and across the five continents. Doing what he does best, the triple-A-Producer/DJ thrives on expanding his musical horizons and establishing a presence within the global music community. Under the pseudonym a’ba-cus, he has recorded for various record labels throughout North America and Europe. Furthermore, under the production title a:xus, he has recorded a full length long-player entitled, “A:xus Soundtrack for Life” (Guidance Recordings Chicago). His extraordinary ability as a creator and innovator in his field has led to remix work and production credits for artists as diverse as Badmarsh + Sri, Chaser, Esthero, Ivanna Santilli, Naomi N’sombi Nick Holder,Layah Jane and Graoh Nobel... to name but a few. His latest endeavour is Re:think, a record label/multimedia entity showcasing and focusing on future works by Bascom and friends within the T-dot, and the globe. Synth driven, burger powered, 99% Halal. With 25+ years of DJ experience, HXF (aka Haf S) is a vibe cultivator supreme. With his roots planted firmly in dance music and its branch offshoots, HXF’s ear for syncopated rhythms, lush textures and flourishing beats have bloomed an organic sweet sound. Fresh but familiar. He has a knack for weaving in and out of higher energy and deep feels all in the same set. He’s always in the cut, always prepared. HXF’s creative output doesn’t stop here. As a producer, he also has numerous musical releases that touch dance floors across the globe, including a critically acclaimed beat tape series, No Frills!
