- Pain Management is excited to present our first in-person offering on June 1st at Venue MOT: Nkisi, OKO DJ, Jon K & Significant Other We’re kicking off the new label series in style with a crew of heavyweights at Bermondsey’s finest chop shop. Expect nothing but the weirdest and wonkiest as this all-star crew descends on the big smoke for a night of mutant club music. Holding down peak time we have the singular force of Nkisi. A powerful voice in the underground for the past decade, known for the fierce and unique sound she’s crafted over the years. Her productions and DJ sets alike fuse African polyrhythmic club energy with Euro hard dance flavor, the result being a plosive yet emotional total sensory bombardment. Joining us from Athens is BFDM affiliate and PU$$Y NIGHTMARE boss OKO DJ. Preceded by a well-earned reputation as one of the most forward thinking and genre expanding selectors in the game, her sets weave the weird and the wonderful into dance experiences that hit every extreme. Tender, disturbing, refreshingly unpredictable and on closing duties - this isn’t a set to miss. Jon K & Significant Other team up once again for an extended opening. The MAL Recordings & Pain Management label bosses go back to back providing some dubbed out weirdness for the early birds, and percussive heat for the late arrivals. Two scuzzed up anti-dancefloor deployers reunited at the controls - get down early to catch them starting things off right. June 1st - one for the freaks. Don’t sleep.
