- 1BTN Presents Felix Dickinson & Nick The Record All Night Long Yup! These two super talented and highly revered selectors / producers are manning the controls at Waterbear on Brighton’s sea front for an all night long DJ takeover, ahead of their upcoming b2b set at the wonderful, We Are Love, festival on the 26th July. 1BTN resident, Felix Dickinson, has been part of the UK's underground dance scene for the last 3 decades, learning his trade DJing at free parties and illegal raves and co-founding his first record label Ugly Music in the 90's. Since then he's produced records for well renowned record labels worldwide including DFA, Rush Hour, Eskimo, Golf Channel, Claremont 56, Futureboogie and his own label Cynic. He has secured slots at the biggest clubs and festivals across the globe and the last few years has seen him receive a lot more attention due to his high profile residencies for Block 9, Glastonbury, Croatia's Love International festival and Houghton Festival in the UK. Nick The Record has had a reputation as one of the UK’s most revered record dealers for a long time, selling records to the stars, amongst many others worldwide. What to do with such incredible records than to become an incredible selector? Nick has spent much of his DJ career in Japan but in more recent years he has been sharing his music closer to home. He’s played at some of the best festivals in Europe over the last few summers with sets at Kala, Love International, Meadows In The Mountains, Dekmantel Selectors, Houghton & Southern Soul. Nick currently runs a label called Record Mission with Dan Tyler from The Idjut Boys to release their Edits. Other releases include a compilation for Dave Lee’s Z label entitled Under the Influence. Prior to that he curated 2 volumes of Disco Juice for Counterpoint records and has also released original material on Nuphonic, Ene & 20/20 Vision labels. Nick has also released 2 official mix CD’s in Japan on Lastrum & Avex (Japan’s biggest record label). We can’t wait to hear these two going head-to-head on the club’s Funktion One sound system! This is an exercise in putting on a killer party then making money, so advance tickets are only £8. The club is only 150 capacity, so don’t sleep!
