This time taking over a night at Loki, Brixton we’re bringing an extra diverse line up with a live concert, a performance, a live set and, of course, a selection of DJs that will make every body move & groove. We’re also having an immersive exhibition all around the venue featuring springing visual artists. (the price of the tickets includes RA fees) LONDON GET READY, Até já. Girls 96 are Paloma Moniz and Ricardo Gonçalves, an electronic pop duo from Portugal. The intensities and ingenuities of the chaotic rituals of the night dressed in synth pop and electroclash, with pulsating beats and blasé glitchy voices. Sara Sternberg & Joe Smith are a multi-media collaborative duo based in South London. Our work utilizes sculpture, video, performance and sound as tools to explore the multifacted dimensions of control within public space and the collective psyche. We look into mechanisms that shape our experiences and interactions as a means to conjure new ways to produce, care and unify. There Must Have Been An Angel By My Side is an audio-visual performance exploring hostile architecture. It features aluminium wings made from reclaimed anti-homeless armrests, transformed into symbolic artefacts. Performers interpret these restrictive structures through repetitive movements, accompanied by an industrial rave symphony. The soundscape, blending samples, sonic fiction, and field recordings, aims to create a ritualized re-evaluation of the collective psyche and reclaim a sense of connectivity. O.PAL’s live set weaves a range of club music genres together into a high energy journey of drums and bass. Performed straight out of the same equipment used to produce the music. He will follow this with a DJ set featuring original productions and experimental dance tracks Blend Stefani steps up to the decks this time, sharing their global collection of sounds. Expect deep, dub-infected, sultry electro grooves with weird techno touches, fusing modern electro and house with cuts rooted in a love of soundsystem culture. Blend Stefani will set the dancefloor mood for the bouncy breaks to follow. NODDY is known for their eclectic sets bringing grit, colour and groove through heavy bass, tech house & garage - setting the pace with energetic tones and floor filler samples that promise to make the walls sweat.
