  • Over Saturday 30th October and Sunday 31st october we are organising a 2 day Halloween mini-festival, with some of the finest producers/djs in house, disco, italo-house, and techno. It will include a 1,000 capacity warehouse party on saturday, and a party at the very latest party basement in Dalston, The Nest, which is just about to open... There's no theme, but it's halloween so we want to see lots of fake blood and crazy outfits! ************************************************************ DAY ONE - Secret Warehouse Party, e. London ************************************************************ >> ROOM 1 - Alex Metric - Ali Love (live) - Matt Walsh - Matt Waites ALEX METRIC We've got Alex Metric headlining our warehouse party!! In case you're unfamiliar Alex is one of the undisputed dj/dance music heavyweights in Britain at the moment. He was crowned Remixer of The Year in 2008, after beating Justice and Soulwax to the title. He presents Radio 1's In New DJs We Trust show. In January of this year Clash magazine ranked him at number two in their list of best DJs of 2010, second only to Brodinski. The reason Alex gets all these accolades is because he makes unique, infectious, innovative dance tracks which make an immediate impact on the listener, and on the dancefloor. His unique style, which takes in filter disco, house, and 80s synth-pop, and stands him apart from any other producer in the UK at the moment. Although roundly embraced by ravers and deejays alike, it wasn't until Alex turned his attentions from tweaking (and often totally destroying) the pile of questionable 80's vinyl on his studio floor to his own vocal offerings that things started to get interesting. His 'In Your Machine' EP in 2008 fired a keytar-shaped missile into a number of electronic genres, and resulted in a fistful of top remix request form the likes of Phoenix, Ladyhawke, and Gorrilaz. But as well as his productions, his dj sets are equally at the cutting edge of dance music, expertly mixing the best that house, disco and techno have to offer the dancefloor. Check out his August mix on his links at the top of this page, it's cool, fresh, and as with everything he does it has a distinct Alex Metric feel to it. We can't wait to have him down to Potty Mouth for halloween! ALI LOVE You'll probably best know Ali for providing the memorable vocal hook to the Chemical Brothers hit 'Do It Again' in 2007, but he's an innovative and charasmatic dance musician and vocalist in his own right. He released a string of eclectic Italo-influenced dance-pop tracks on Columbia Records, after which he took some time out to find a new direction. He's now back with a debut album more aimed at the dance floor, influenced by Italo-house rhythms, vintage keyboard/drum machines, and a lot of sub-bass. Ali will be playing a full live set of his new material with his band on saturday night, and playing a one off dj set for us on Sunday night. Mega whoop! MATT WALSH Bugged Out! resident Matt Walsh will be smashing it on the decks in the main room alongside Alex Metric. Matt is one of the best djs in London at the moment, which is why Tiga signed Matt to his record label (Turbo Recordings) after hearing Matt play at T Bar. If you've ever seen Matt play or heard one of his mixes you'll know he always pushes the envelope of new and interesting dance music, while remaining completely focused on the dancefloor. From Matt on halloween expect the best that Electronic House and Techno, New Wave, Acid House, and Disco have to offer. MATT WAITES Matt Waites is another massively talented and prolific producer/dj, with at least 3 projects on the go at the moment: as a member of Electric Fling (w/ In Flagranti and Nadia Ksaiba on Codek), as one half of G&S (Dissident / Codek), and under the moniker Moscow (Thisisnotanexit). Matt first made his mark under the moniker Nightmoves on Kitsune Records with an array of killer remixes for the likes of Roisin Murphy, Friendly Fires, Delphic, & loads more. Hailed as 'the saviour of new disco' by Phonica Records, his first 2 Moscow releases were released on the mighty Thisisnotanexit label, and his latest remix (Command V), is a really cool acid-house tinged analogue disco number. Expect a set of expertly mixed house, disco and techno from Matt at PMD. >> ROOM 2 - The C90s - Stopmakingme - Jac The-Disco - Ben Scales THE C90's Signed to Headman's Relish Recordings, The C90s are a UK duo who've produced a string of remixes for the likes of Late of the Pier, Filthy Dukes, Roisin Murphy, and Flight Facilities. As well as their Filthy Dukes remix being labelled Remix of The Month by MixMag in Dec 09, their great debut single 10:01 was remixed by Villa. They've received big support from the likes of Erol Alkan, Jacques Renault, and Bang Gang for a reason. Get involved! STOPMAKINGME Stopmaking me (Kill Em All) has been making a name for himself for sometime now. He's well known for his ability to create genre defying dance sets which take in heavy electro, mutant new wave, disco, pulsing techno and post-punk, and still sound amazing. Which is why he was hand picked by Simian Mobile DIsco to tour with them on their tour last year. Expect some quality late night dancefloor action from him at PMD AND THE REST And joining them on the decks in room 2 will be inimitable party veterans JAC-THE DISCO (Kill Em All / Fabric). Not unfamiliar with throwing their own massive shindigs once in a while, they'll be mixing anything from Chicago House to Cosmic Disco via House and Techno. They'll be joined by our resident BEN SCALES who'll be playing whatever's getting people dancing, alongside new Dalston dj talent hailing from Bristol, JOEY BONES. >> ROOM 3 - hosted by WE ARE NOT A ROCK BAND Hosting room 3 is a collective of the freshest and original bloggers in east London, WE ARE NOT A ROCK BAND.  Having established a consistently innovative and forward-thinking music blog, the WANARB crew are turning up en masse to rock Potty Mouth.  Having thrown several of their own sell out underground warehouse parties this year, they definitely know how to get a dancefloor going.  Not for the faint hearted, expect a mix of stomping electro, industrial strength techno, and all mixture of things that go bleep in the night.  Can't wait! ************************************************ DAY TWO - The Nest, Dalston ************************************************ On Sunday we're putting a night on at an amazing brand new club in Dalston which isn't even open yet, THE NEST! We're doing the sweaty full on rave on saturday night, so on Sunday we're going to the newest party basement on the east London scene to dance ourselves clean. Expect a big dancefloor, a bigger sound system, and some huge tunes! >> BOTTIN Flying in from Venice for a one off UK show, we have one of the finest purveyors of electronic disco around at the moment, WILLIAM BOTTIN. Will has been releasing funk-drenched disco records for over a decade, but it's more recently that he's been at the forefront of the Italo-Disco revival with releases such as the seminal Fondamente Nove (Eskimo Records, 2008) and No Statis (Italians Do It Better, 2009). His critically acclaimed concepts album, Horror Disco (Bearfunk Records UK, 2009) is full of catchy bassline hooks and heavy analogue melodies perfect for the dancefloor. Hot off an Australian tour, expect Bottin to take you on an unpredictable musical journey into space disco, italo rarities, thick basslines, and future disco! >> G&S We're very excited to have G&S down for a special dj set. G&S is Nadia Ksaiba and Matt Waites, who are both great djs/producers in there own rights. Nadia has a reputation for playing seamless, genre spanning sets which merge disco with anything from techno, new wave punk funk, to Chicago house and synth pop. Matt also has a reputation for breaking the mould and mixing up different styles, and always managing to make it work. As well as forming part of Electric Fling with In Flagranti and Rory Philips, G&S have released several monster underground tracks on Dissident and Codek. We haven't got a clue what Matt and Nadia have in store for us at PMD, but you can guarantee it'll get the dancefloor going! >> ALI LOVE We're very excited to have Ali Love back again on the Sunday night to play a one off dj set for us. Bottin did an amazing dancefloor remix of Ali's Smoke & Mirrors in the summer, which we loved, and we thought it might be nice to get them both together! Ali will be cutting loose and playing everything from early influences in his life such old old school funk and disco through to modern bass-heavy rarities he knows will get the dancefloor going. As Ali puts it, "girls respond to deep bass. Ultimately, that's a very interesting prospect"... And the PMD resident Ben Scales will be following it up on the decks as well, playing some of the best disco and house flavours around at the minute. Get involved! >>> TICKETS BOTH EVENTS ARE COVERED BY A SINGLE TICKET, available in advance.
