  • •••JONA Biography••• Having studied the music theory of Blues and Jazz for several years, JONA began recording electronic music in 1998. He became familiar with studio recording equipment when he studied sound engineering in 2002 and also gained experience from being a professional guitar teacher for 4 years. His first releases came out on various labels under different aliases in 2004 and at the age of 25, he had already toured several times across EUROPE, JAPAN, AMERICA and AUSTRALIA, including many gigs at WATERGATE (Berlin), ... Amongst his catalogue of work, one can find successful releases such as "MANTA", "ALTIPLANO" and also a reinterpretation of the Jazz classic "TAKE FIVE" by THE DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET. JONA has also collaborated with a major record company, VIRGIN MUSIC, and remixed songs by pop artists IAN O'BRIEN-DOCKER and SOFFY O. Both remixes reached nr 1 in the official German Dance Charts for several weeks!! Using his different musical abilities he incorporates a wide range of styles into his work, without confining himself to one particular sound. Captivated by technology, JONA has the constant desire to explore new sound textures, always trying to integrate a futuristic and forwardthinking edge to his music. This brought him to release records on BERLIN label GET PHYSICAL MUSIC and later on CARL CRAIG's PLANET E imprint from DETROIT. •••JONA Discography••• Records released: Rise (SUPPLEMENT FACTS, 2010) Freefall (RESOPAL SCHALLWARE, 2009) Oblique (PLANET E, 2009) Take Five (GET PHYSICAL, 2008) Altiplano (PLANET E, 2008) Manta (GET PHYSICAL, 2008) Swamp (FUMAKILLA, 2007) Fisherman (GET PHYSICAL, 2007) Ashes & Dust / Turning Point (RESOPAL RED, 2007) Puppets, Dan Curtin remix (TOYS FOR BOYS, 2007) Evidence (GET PHYSICAL, 2007) Tizia (GET PHYSICAL, 2006) Moontalka (RESOPAL SCHALLWARE, 2006) Tap Stroke (FUMAKILLA, 2006) Yellowstone (GET PHYSICAL, 2006) The Learnings (GET PHYSICAL, 2006) Someone, Claude Von Stroke mix (STROBE, 2006) Ask / Use & Abuse (TOYS FOR BOYS, 2004) Remixes: JUNIOR BOYS - No Kinda Man (GET PHYSICAL, 2008) MICHAL HO - Take Away (TUNING SPORK, 2007) DASO - Daybreak (GET PHYSICAL, 2006) IAN O'BRIEN-DOCKER - The Beginning (VIRGIN, 2006) M.A.N.D.Y.
