JAMES RUSKIN : http://www.myspace.com/jamesruskin2006 When talking about real homegrown talent for underground techno in the UK, just a handful of guys spring to mind, one of the first names that would pop up would be James Ruskin. He has been doing things at a top level of standard now for quite some time, extremely well respected international by pioneers of the scene and fanatics worldwide. Even here in London alone, he is undoubtedly a firm favorite. Almost a decade ago his third studio album 'Into Submission' was released on infamous Berlin label 'Tresor' which as many of you know is also notorious for its Berlin night clubs. Since then a whole discography of releases, albums, e.p's and remixes as long as your arm have been in record stores everywhere. As a performing DJ since 1991, his exceptional talent and unique mixing ability at events all over the UK saw him take to the international circuit by 1996 and has been going to this day. All throughout this time, since 1995 James has been the extremely busy boss of Blueprint Records which is now one of the most respect underground techno labels around. 15 years on your average label might be in to triple figures of releases but not Blueprint. James' quality control is one of the key's to this labels true respect, time is taken to assure that each release meets up to his great level of standard whether its his own productions or collaborations or somebody else to feature. If you look back on the past 2 years alone you can see that in his work. All credit due it appears to be working very well which is why you see James working with some of the best in the industry, whether it be playing at the best clubs from Fabric to Berghain or releasing for top labels such as Tresor, Mote Evolver and Ostgut Ton. We could talk about James' history for a long time but we'd rather talk about right now Blueprint 30 has just been released recently, which is collaboration work of James Ruskin and Regis of Sandwell District. His international gigs are as busy as they've ever been and the UK still can't get enough. It goes without saying that 2011 is sure to be another very busy year for Mr. Ruskin. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CHRIS FINKE : http://www.myspace.com/chrisfinke Chris Finke was raised between the England and the island of Ibiza, and his introduction into dance music, like many others, was through the UK rave scene. From rave, techno soon took over as and it wasn't long before it became a huge part of his life after visits to clubs like Club UK, Lost and Open. Chris concentrated for a while on the technical side of DJing, appearing in the UK DMC championships. In 2001, he decided that his future lay in music and launched "Flux", a series of London parties and off shoot record label which would play host to a long line of big name DJs and acts from all over the world. These included Underground Resistance Live, Slam, Stacey Pullen and Octave One and it was playing alongside them that Chris really started to cut his teeth. Guest spots at clubs up and down the UK and eventually Europe followed and he became a well known figure on the scene, regularly showcasing his 3 deck skills and gaining a following wherever he went. Also In 2003, he and Andi hooked up with Ben Sims to form "Split". Together they ran the parties that shook up the capital and arguably kick-started the techno scene in London again, with all time record crowds at Turnmills, a residency at The Key and one offs in hand picked venues all over town. Chris and Ben also produced and presented the now legendary "Split Radio Show" for 3 years between 2004 and 2007. The monthly show was syndicated worldwide on both FM and internet stations and received a massive loyal following of listeners tuning in every month. He is resident at the seminal UK techno institution Atomic Jam in Birmingham, (now in is 15th year!), and he has held international residencies Decadance in Ghent, Belgium, and La Coruna in Northern Spain. Aside from his residencies, his electrifying DJ sets have taken him all around the world, from New York to Japan, from Moscow to Thailand and just about everywhere in between. His UK appearances continue to grow, and he is just as at home playing at Fabric in London or Glastonbury Festival as he is intimate clubs like Stealth in Nottingham or Doornroosje in Holland. His true musical versatility as a DJ has really been an asset in being able to rock different crowds, from big room techno, to tech house and minimal. After a big year in 2009 for his productions (the highlight of which was his “Riot House EP” which was charted and played by everyone from Luke Slater and Joey Beltram, to Paul Woolford and Luciano), 2010 has seen Chris continues to push things forward with both music, and new projects. He is working on his debut album due in 2011, and has EPs due at the end of the year on Electrax, Flux Recordings, M_Rec and remixes on a string of labels. He is now a sought after remixer, with a string of reworkings of artists such as Mark Broom and A Guy Called Gerald under his belt to name but two. His well respected Flux Recordings label is home to both established producers like Paul Woolford, Joey Beltram, Deetron and Mark Broom, and has helped to break new talent like Darko Esser and Max Cooper. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CHRIS STANFORD : http://www.chrisstanford.co.uk/ Being a key element of Lost Souls a brand that is notorious for its 5 year residency at Public Life running alongside warehouse parties and big scale events. For Chris this has been the platform for so many more good things, their events with many well known artists including Chris Liebing, Konrad Black, Gaiser, James Ruskin, Len Faki, Mark Broom, A Guy Called Gerald, Exercise One, Seth Troxler, Misc. and way too many more to mention. Performing at events with this caliber of acts has led to highlighting Chris' own unique individual style in the way he plays house & techno. Over the years there's not many dj booths in London that haven't felt his presence for at least an hour or two. Legends of clubland, Turnmills, SeOne, Camden Palace, Herbal, Key, Cross and Canvas now are just good memories of what Londons clubland used to resemble. But by no means has things ever stopped being busy for him, recent sets at Fabric, Cable, Ministry Of Sound and Egg in London. Q Club, Rainbow Warehouse and Custard Factory in Birmingham and plenty of warehouse events. Supporting some of the biggest names going such as Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Loco Dice, Josh Wink, Speedy J, 2000 & One, Troy Pierce, Gregor Tresher, Alexi Delano, Alex Under, Magda, Sandwell District, Traversable Wormhole, Par Grindvik... This seems to be a task of regular occurrence that Chris steps up to with his pressure free attitude and confidence in his capability to impress how ever the small or large are the number of ears in attendance. East Village gets busy early, especially around Christmas. Ticket purchase is always strongly advised. Info: [email protected] Call: 07859 065106
