  • No sleep proudly presents the hugely talented Ramadanman to play their first party of 2011. After a great year in 2010 which saw no sleep host 3 successful outings in the uber cool La Cheetah Club, as well as lauching an exciting new show on the seminal Subcity Radio, all the while running a busy Saturday evening barnight at the trendy Goat bar in the West End. Saturday February 26th 2011, will see No Sleep move onto the next level as the mighty RAMADANMAN touches down in Glasgow to play the La Cheetah Club which is arguably one of the most hyped venues in Glasgow at the moment with its thumping new soundsystem :) Ramadanman is one of the founders of the ever-influential Hessle Audio label, David 'Ramadanman' Kennedy has not only been at the forefront of the most exciting sound to emerge from the UK’s clubs for years but has helped shape its trajectory. A DJ since the age of 14, beginning with deep house and hip hop and progressing to jungle, Rama’s dubstep epiphany came after being inspired by a Mala set at FWD back in 2006. Since then Rama has racked up scene defining releases on labels including Soul Jazz, Tempa, Aus, Critical Music and Hessle Audio, the imprint he co-runs with Pangaea and Ben UFO, as well as remixing the likes of Ragga Twins, Scuba and many more. He is also heavily involved in organizing the Leeds night Ruffage as well as co-hosting the now infamous Ruffage Sessions weekly internet radio show on Sub FM. With fans spanning the dance music divide – including Ricardo Villalobos, Skream, Francois K, Kode9, Gilles Peterson and Rob da Bank – Ramadanman’s bright future is all but assured. However, his most recent productions have seen him venture on to the likes of Will Saul's Aus music releasing his own unique style of deep techy grooves alongside other current UK leading artists Appleblim and Midland that has made us particularly moist at No Sleep! And be rest assured La Cheetah's roof will be in tatters once this man has finished. If this wasn't enough No Sleep has recently signed Edinburgh based Jacksonville to there stable, so he will be laying down his trademark deep and hypnotic grooves in a new and exclusive live set. With a string of releases on his very own Doppler imprint and Matt tolfrey's Leftroom, and remixes on 20:20 vision and a forthcoming release on Russian Deep house label Shant Records, 2011 will see Jacksonville move onto an International scale. The night will also feature the exceptionally talented Darren Quail a local DJ to be reckoned with. Darren holds down a residency's at Glasgow's institution the Sub Club and has been on afterparty duties for Return to Mono and Pressure. Further to this, an appearance on the Pressure 2010 NYE line up, warming up for headline act SEI A - this man knows how to work a crowd. The night will be supported by No Sleep Residents Adam Watt and Why Eleven.
