January clubbing in Manchester can be rather barren, what with so many parties in hibernation. At Micron HQ however, we expose ourselves to significant doses of plutonium radiation to maintain a freaky energy (as well as Gaz's gorgeous tan) and keep you lot occupied though such desolate times.
We’ve also built a reputation in our city for booking important debut acts like Polder, Alex Celler, Dusty Kid, Christian Burkhardt, 2000 and One, Ben Klock, Rozzo and Okain. It’s time to trust us again as we welcome Evans & Waterfall for their first show in Manchester. And if you don’t (why not?!), you can be fairly sure Steve Lawler’s got it right, as he’s only gone and signed them to his own VIVa imprint.
Some of you will have spotted that we don’t usually go on for miles and miles about who is licking who’s arses, what track got played nineteen minutes into somebody’s set somewhere, and all that bollocks. It's not being lazy but reading it back bores us and probably most of you too! You’re welcome to some links instead so you can hear their lovely stuff. THE BIG FIVE-0
Seeing as our last three events were the Fourth Birthday, the Christmas Party and the New Year's Eve Smash Up, it seems appropriate to mention that we are getting ready to celebrate yet another milestone... This will be the fiftieth regular monthly Micron in Manchester (with no silly breaks for summer or owt)!
Scattered liberally around this half century have been plenty of phenomenal bookings for our DJs at Circo Loco, Sankeys, Warehouse Project, Back2Basics, KeToLoCo, Ministry of Sound, Gazgolder (Moscow), Vozduh (Moscow), 2020 Vision, Queensday Boatparty (Amsterdam), Neptune Day (Tchaikovsky, Russia) and a load of others we can barely remember. We have also thrown some huge London parties and we secured our Moscow residency last year, having made the first trips to Russia a success.
The point of all this fanfaronade is that our regular monthly shindigs are the bread and butter of our trade, without which we would have nothing. And it is our wonderful regular crowds of misfits, loonies, pissheads, ravers, students, locals and randoms that make these parties so special. So thanks a million for giving us such happy times! It just goes to show that the ancient equation, attributed to Greek legend Aristotle, is correct:
Good Fun + Good Music --> well er, Good Fun + Good Music
Anyways, we like to offer our gratitude by spreading the love which reminds us to remind you all that you can (almost) always play with us for free if you arrive before 10.30pm. So do that init!

Anyone sensible enough to have bought a ticket for the massive Micron NYE Smash Up can party with us for FREE this month! Feel free to reprint tickets or bring them on phones, but we also still have your names, reference numbers, addresses, phone numbers, driving licences, PINs, house keys, credit cards and passports so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.
We regret that for fairly obvious reasons, we can’t make the same offer to those who paid on the door for NYE. (Buy a ticket next time then!)
