• Cartulis're back! A new year begins, with many surprises and most importantly with good music. To begin this 2011 in the right way, will have a basic artist in the history of techno in Manchester and UK. Ladies and gentlemen! CLARO INTELECTO (Modern Love) ...Mark Stewart first made an appearance under his Claro Intelecto pseudonym in early 2003 - his remarkable “Peace of Mind” 12” fast becoming the most discussed dancefloor debut for years and enjoying re-presses now heading for double figures. In 2005 Claro signed to the label run by his friends in Manchester - Modern Love, and has turned his focus to a much more club-honed sound, taking in influences from Warehouse classics that accompanied him through years in Manchester's internationally revered clubs like the Hacienda, Home and Paradise Factory. His "Warehouse Sessions" series has unfolded into a full narrative taking in the many disparate elements that make for the deepest kind of club music - a series that has gained him the much coveted No.1 spot in Berlin's Groove Magazine for the third volume in the series. With the Fourth session now under his wing Mark Stewart has been putting the finishing touches to his long-awaited sophomore album "Metanarrative", which was released in October 2007. His latest release, the “When The Time is Right / Round & Round” EP on Modern Love, released in November 2008 got phenomenal reviews around the globe. Review on boomkat.com: First new twelve from Mark Stewart in over six months - and it's an out and out KILLER. "When The Time Is Right" is just one of the deepest, deadliest tracks we've heard in some time, all sumptuous pads and midnight chords capturing that intangible thread between narcotic House at one end and Berlin Dub at the other. Over almost 9 minutes the textures gradually shift until a point of transition halfway that channels in those shimmering, barely conscious keys that mess with your mind and take you into balmy, impossibly glamorous climes. No producer we know is quite as able to offset bass weight with so much emotive subtlety without ever getting lost in self indulgence or schmaltz - it's a truly truly amazing piece of future Techno. Over to the flipside and the much more edgy proposition of 'Round & Round', a gargantuan, modified square-bassline jacker built on multi-layered percussion and an intensifying wall of chords that edges its way into the mix with every sequence only to once again drop out into the ether, leaving nothing but that endlessly spacious arrangement of snares and bass to well and truly topple the dance. Immense.
