We kick off the 2011 Plastic Love season by fostering our ever growing friendship with the Making Shapes crew and welcoming headmistress, Jeniluv.
Jeniluv started playing records in Los Angeles in 1996 after becoming inspired by DJs Doc Martin, Iz, Harvey & Solar. Originally from the underground house music circuits of Los Angeles, Jeni made the move to San Francisco in 1998 with love for acid house, deep house, disco, electro and german techno. Heard through the dark & sweaty parties of SF for ten years blurring the boundaries of genres on the dancefloor, throwing successful club & underground parties in the city. Jeni made a bold move back home to Los Angeles in 2007 to go to music production school at Icon & begin the road to electronic music production. Jeni has thrown undergrounds since in LA featuring DJs from LCD soundsystem, Qzen, Solar, and TK Disko under the name "FISTFIGHT" after the dj collective & underground events she put together in San Francisco. Now she has a new underground party in Los Angeles started in 2010 "MAKING SHAPES" with partners Alexandre Mouracade & Mozhgan.. featuring tastemakers like Maurice Fulton, Thomas, Prince Language, Mowgli, Justin Martin and many more alongside local killers & slayers in a second room!
Jeniluv has built up a solid reputation amongst her dance culture peers as a quality dj & formulated many dream parties in her wake that have kept them up dancing all night into the morning.
Fantastic way to start the year we think. Residents Bas & Jimmy Maheras open things up with Jeniluv taking over late night style.
