Beats For Japan - Nippon Nobito

  • Every so often, events in our world compel us to act on behalf of others. To give aid and comfort to those who suffer. The call to action is even stronger when we see suffering at the awesome hands of mother nature. By now we have born witness to the massive destruction brought on by the twin disasters in Japan. With the potential for radiation contamination, the situation for the people of Japan is beyond urgent. "Beats For Japan" feels that call to action. We are collection of electronic music professionals with global credentials who just happen to live and work in the Bay Area. We feel it is vital for us to help our fellow man by joining forces to do what we do best. Put on one hell of a party. We ask you to join us in that effort. On Sunday April 3rd from 2pm to 12am at Public Works in SF, "Beats For Japan" will bring together some of the biggest names in the Bay Area house music community for an epic day/night of music, dancing, friendship and most importantly of all, fundraising to help the people of Japan. Dj's include (confirmed): - Mark Farina (Great Lakes Audio) - Claude Vonstroke (Dirtybird/Mothership) - Miguel Migs (Salted) - Fred Everything (Lazy Days) - David Harness (Harlum Muziq) - Julius Papp (Neo Disco) - Olivier Desmet (Amenti Music) - New Mondo (DJ MFR & Vincent Kwok) - Chris Lum (Moulton/Harlum Muziq) $10 minimum donation. More is always welcome. The full view flyer can be seen here: http://www.soul68.com/beats_for_japan_japan_benefit_promo.jpg At the time of this event posting, B4J is still researching and determining which Aid Organization is best serving the immediate needs of the people in Japan. Some agencies we are looking at include: - Japan Society: http://www.japansociety.org/earthquake - Japanese Red Cross Society: http://www.jrc.or.jp/english/relief/l4/Vcms4_00002105.html We continue to search for the most effective, local agency we can find. We seek to avoid agencies that collect donations to place in a general fund and distribute to other projects. If you have any suggestions (other than the major charities, please let us know on the wall and we will further research). A final decision will be made soon and communicated here. Thanks to the generous support of Public Works, Soul68(flyer) and the DJ's involved, we are able to provide you a night of talent rarely seen on one stage. We call upon those who live and love house music to come out and support this event. We can't think of a better way to help those in crisis then by simply dancing, laughing and celebrating the connecting force of music. The last time we came together in this way was early 2010 when the people of haiti were suffering their own crisis. Hope For Haiti was a 7 city event that raised $52,000 on a single night. Unfortunately, we must call on your compassion again and rally the good people of this area for a urgent cause. Please, come create some good times with us. Together, we can bring much needed support and assistance to the people of Japan. If you are out the area, or can't attend, please consider giving what you can to your charity of choice. Also, stay tuned here for more details about a live internet broadcast and any notable artists we add to the line up. Thank you for your time and compassion. Yours in the beat, Beats For Japan crew.
