For the fifth year running, Karl Injex (Rude Movement, ATL/NYC) and Daz-I-Kue (Bugz in the Attic/Uprock, ATL/London) bourne out of a sincere desire to recognize the singular genius of the late, great JAMES BROWN, the ‘Godfather’ tribute parties have quickly become a staple in the annual WMC program and throughout the US, with help from talented dj friends, which now has the blessing of the James Brown Family Foundation.

While The Godfather will most certainly pay tribute to James Brown's seemingly limitless catalog of dancefloor hits, the party will also showcase the work of those influenced by (The J.B.'s, Bootsy Collins, Bobby Byrd, Lyn Collins) as well as those who have sampled his tunes over the years. James Brown is the most sampled artist of all time. Some of the many artists who have sampled The Godfather include Roni Size, Nas, Jodeci, Prince, Snoop Dogg, En Vogue, Afrika Bambaataa, GangStarr, Eric B. & Rakim, Mary J.
