Shining takes take place right on the banks of Lake Chiemsee near Felden, Upper Bavaria and has a private beach. More than 90% of the location is under cover - so no chance of a Glastonbury-style mud-bath!
As well as a large outdoor-arena, the former US-Army R&R hotel offers many separate floors that will be hosted by different labels or promoters, and decorated by the artists participating in the festival. Co-operations with Frankfurt’s famous Cocoon Club, Great Stuff Records, Minus, Freude am Tanzen, Get Physical, Bpitch, Mobilee, Kompakt and many others are being planned. There's also a chance to get out on the water with the "Traumschiff" (Dreamboat), an annual electronic boat-party organised by Harry Klein and Villa.
We're expecting around 8000 guests for the festival. To cater for them, there's a fully-equipped campsite right next to the location. There are also thousands of parking places in the vicinity.
