Prepare to be overwhelmed on May 21st when POGO sees BIGWAR showcase three international trailblazers. Acid House mastermind, A Guy Called Gerald, graces the stage upstairs whilst Old-Skool pioneer, Ceephax Acid Crew, melts our eardrums with his acerbic synths in the basement. And as if that wasn’t enough, these Acid House masterminds will be joined by Baselogic’s elusive Ed Chamberlain on the night.
There will also be an Irish Producers Showcase stage in The Loft uncovering the crème-da-la-crème of Irish talent on the night .
A Guy Called Gerald:
Mancunian Acid House extroadinaire, and Hacienda legend, A Guy Called Gerald, will
be treating us to a very special and dance-friendly live and DJ set. Not just creator of Acid
House, he also promulgated the Jungle and Drum and Bass scene. His most memorable
anthem ‘ Voodoo Ray’ released in ’ 88 was an instant dancefloor filler, as was ‘ Pacific State’
which he produced when he was a member of the band 808 State. Over the past 25 years
he has been releasing on labels such as Perlon, Sender, !K7 and Beatstreet. He released his
9th album ‘ Tronic Jazz: The Berlin Sessions’ last year on specialist Berlin label Laboratory
Instinct.

Ceephax Acid Crew:
Andy Jenkinson, aka Ceephax Acid Crew, is one of the few masters who still uses old skool
tools to produce that analogue sound. Signed at the very early age of 17, armed with 303’ s
and retro jumpers, he has been throwing and playing at some of the most erosive parties
in the UK ever since. His vintage method of using early digital synths to produce has set
him apart from his peers. Expect tons of acid house, drum and bass and gabber commodore
sounds. His latest track ‘ The Unstoppable Phax Machine" EP is now out on 030303 records.

Ed Chamberlain:
Mixing pensive melody with strong electro beats, Ed Chamberlain’ s production stands apart
from the rest. He remains a member of the Baselogic crew, of "Bloc Weekend" fame. With a
slew of releases on Base Logic as well appearances on Combat and Fleeced, he displays an
ability to fuse warm, melodic synth sounds with glitched-up breakbeats ranging from hip-hop
to electro without becoming too self-indulgent.
His live sets have proved to be incredibly popular not just at large-scale events like BLOC,
Glastonbury and Glade but across Europe and beyond. His name has been familiar to the
techno community for sometime as his tracks have regularly featured in sets from the likes of
Surgeon, Regis, James Ruskin and Ben Sims to name just a few.

Fran Harnett:
Dublin legend Fran Hartnett has been tearing dancefloors up with his fresh and futuristic
techno beats since ‘ 92. He has supported a plethora of International geniuses such as Joey
Beltram, The Advent, Kevin Saunderson, Marco Carolla and Rolando. Fran’ s latest track ‘ It
was Written in Vapour’ EP (2011) (Audio Assault Records) was more than warmly received
and has graced the sets of techno legends such as Luke Slater, Dave Clarke, and Inigo
Kennedy. Usually playing Live sets of late, we will be treated to a very rare and delectable
DJ set from Fran on the night.

Djamel and Darren Rice:
Djamel and Darren Rice launched their record label "Heavy Reel" which by all accounts is
definitely the top new techno label of the year. Boasting an artist roster as wide and varied as
Donnacha Costello, Reeko and Tom Hades, they're currently about to go to promo with some
new cuts from Mr. jones and Justin Berkovi so it's all go at HR Central.
Djamel's last release "Voyeurism In High Definition" went out on the mighty London Based
Process Recordings, home to Artists such as Abe Duque, Beltram, Emerson and Ireland's
own Corrugated Tunnel. The release has garnished huge support including Laurent Garnier
who took it on his LBS Live tour and Data Transmission scoring the release a perfect 10 in
their review of the EP, something rarely, if ever seen from the online dance music authority.
Djamel’ s latest EP “ Kireru” has been described as the antithesis to the warmer
melodic “ Voyeurism” EP and is currently charted by Dave Clarke and Speedy J. Featuring
Reeko and Fran Hartnett on the flipside it boasts some of techno’ s finest exponents, This
track pulls no punches and is more in a vein similar to what can be expected when Darren and
Djamel team up for their "Heavy Reel" live set on the night.
