Very simply, it’s called The Beach Party. But don’t let the basic name fool you; there’s more going on than hustling through the sand at the little beach in Long Island City. This Saturday night The Beach Party winds down its 2007 season with a bill that boasts the mixing of Dixon, whose Get Physical mix from the spring masterfully pulled together everything from Thom Yorke to Timo Maas. Alex from Tokyo, a New York resident who's released tracks on Dixon's Innervisions label helps him represent. With residents Justin Carter, Probus and the Brothers' Brothers dropping everything from house to hip hop to techno to funk, there won't be any reason for anyone not to dance.
