Cubism at Source 50th Release Party with Freaky Disco & Rob Pearson

  • The monthly Cubism Records residency at Source, Maidstone continues on Saturday July 16th after Deepgroove smashed the main room alongside the Cubism residents at the last party. As you might have noticed, the Cubism parties showcase the music on the label, the influences on the sound of the label and the many underground artists releasing music with us. With this in mind we will continue to be welcoming over the summer months a number of key players releasing music with us this year to the residency. And look out for Deepgroove’s remix of Saytek later this summer! The July party at Source is a little bit special as it marks the 50th EP released on the imprint. ‘Night Bazaar’ by label boss Mark Gwinnett under his Lunacy Sound Division alias and it’s amazing remixes have been heavily road tested by the residents over the last few parties both at the Source and Cargo and the reactions have been ridiculous! To celebrate the release on Cubism Records and the landmark 50th release we have invited into the Source main room two artists who never fail to impress us with their awesome productions and who appear with amazing individual remixes on the Night Bazaar EP, Wiggle’s FREAKY DISCO and Evasive Records’ boss ROB PEARSON alongside residents MARK GWINNETT and PAUL JOHNSON. In the courtyard we have a local DJ and someone who was instrumental to Cubism in the early days of the label back in 2007, Phobic Records’ RICHARD BELSOM. Joining Richard on the night are our other two excellent Cubism residents Mike Healey and Deanoloco ensuring the courtyard is rocking all night! Get there early as we expect this one to be another busy affair and we look forward to welcoming you back to Source for this purely underground house and techno celebration! ALL IS OK!!!! ? SATURDAY 16TH JULY • 9PM TO 6AM • £6 ON THE DOOR http://www.cubism-records.com/ ---------------------------- Here’s some additional info on the guests for this party. Look out for mixes on the Cubism monthly podcast. • FREAKY DISCO (Wiggle / Is This / Cubic Records) http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/freakydisco Freaky Disco has about 18 years of experience in staging events and parties behind it. They are a collective of professional individuals who are dedicated to bringing the ever changing sound of the underground dance scene to the fore- front. They have staged events in some of the most talked about clubs in the world, hosted stages at various festivals and have thrown countless secret underground parties in some of the most strangest surroundings you could imagine! Appearing for Cubism on the night from the Freak’s collective we have a duo that consists of firstly DJ ROBIN EE, a 20 year international veteran of the underground house scene. There’s not many clubs this perfectionist hasn’t played in our fine capitol, reknowned for his journeys through house with the ability to be a little bit different as well as remaining a true crowd pleaser. Also we have TONY NUNN. Pulled from the garage scene, he can be spotted regularly rocking the dance floors of the London underground with a very cutting edge to his sound, his seamless mixing is guaranteed to rock any crowd. They will be playing back to back on the night. As well as the events they do, Freaky Disco have produced a number of amazing releases over the years most recently with a string of tracks for Terry Francis and Nathan Coles Wiggle Label with them appearing alongside Terry and Nathan at the New Years Eve Wiggle party at Paramount, London last year. Tracks like ‘Factor 50’, ‘Carrot Juice’, ‘Mustard Plant’ and ‘Wacked’ have been a staple in many DJs sets this year not least the sets of Cubism DJ’s Mark Gwinnett and Paul Johnson who have been dropping them in the main room and courtyard at Source all year. The Freaks have delivered a jaw dropping remix of Lunacy Sound Division’s ‘Night Bazaar’ for the label’s 50th release. It is with great pleasure we welcome them to the residency at Source to celebrate the release. ---------------------------- • ROB PEARSON (Evasive Records / Area38) http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/robpearson A true ambassador of House, Rob Pearson has mixed it up in clubs from Miami, Germany, Barcelona, London, the South Coast, and all over the UK, throughout Eastern Europe and beyond.
