  • On Saturday 30th July Motion returns to The WorkShop for another massive night playing the best in tech house, progressive and techno. And this month we have an extra special line up for you – not one but two headliners! The first is a true dance music legend – Steve Parry. One of the most talented and influential DJ’s to come out of Liverpool, Steve has been DJing for over two decades playing gigs right across the country as well as such diverse places as Russia, Mexico and Greece. He has played at UK Clubbing institutions like Creamfields, Shindig, Renaissance, The Warehouse Project and Circus where he has played alongside the likes of Sasha, Laurent Garnier and Dave Seaman. In 1997 he started the Alderaan clubnight which was located in the ‘room above a pub’; the infamous Lemon Lounge (which years later would also be the starting place for Chibuku Shake Shake) and played host to the likes of Howells, Zabiela, Burridge, Quivver amongst many others. Alderaan was a massively important club in Liverpool’s house history and one that has shaped the musical landscape of the city’s club scene to this very day. For the last 10 years Steve has also been manager of 3beat records, possibly the most famous dance music record store in the world. 3 Beat has provided the world’s biggest DJ’s with their tunes and Steve was instrumental in building and continuing relationships with these DJ’s…forming friendships and knowing what records would suit the individuals concerned…DJ’s from Jules, Tong and Oakenfold to Digweed, Sasha and Warren to Howells, Sneak and Park certainly have a lot to thank Steve and 3 Beat for!! Steve also hosts his weekly ‘The Red Zone’ radio show on JuiceFM, Liverpool’s best independent radio station where he breaks new tunes and has regular mixes from some of the premier names in house and techno. He has also delivered two very well received mixes for John Digweeds’ Global Transitions show on Kiss. 2009 saw Steve launch SMP3 Music Management from where he sorts all the top jocks out with the latest hot promo’s. So expect a very special set with plenty of upfront tuneage – we can’t wait to have Steve play for us!!! Headliner number two is up and coming star of the moment – Sasha Le Monnier, fresh from her Australian tour where she played five dates, two alongside the awesome Guy J. Sasha is an incredibly talented DJ. We witnessed her flawless mixing and superb track selection earlier this year at Ministry Of Sound and knew straight away that we had to book her for Motion. As well as the U.K. and Australia, Sasha has played gigs in the U.S. and Europe. One gig at The Code in Subotica, Serbia saw her interviewed on television and by two magazines. She has played at Festivals like Jersey Live and Mass Electronic Music Festival and also an after party gig @ The Exit Festival [ Novi Sad ]. Where her seductive sets of deep house, tech house, prog house and techno send pulses racing on the dancefloor! Besides DJing in clubs Sasha has pushed her sound on internet radio with monthly shows on Proton Radio, Danceradioglobal, DI.FM [Digitally Imported] and ensonicradio. She also produces with tracks and remixes released on Source Of Gravity where she works as P&R Manager as well as WeContinue Digital, Tactal Hots Music and also Stripped Digital. Another DJ who is not to be missed – we can’t wait to have Sasha play for us!!! And last but not least Salon K: Nick “Mids” Chapman and Jaymin Doe, based in London and Melbourne respectively, started performing together in 2008 when they bonded over a mutual passion and respect for all types of electronic music. Making their debut with an epic two hour live, decks and fx show at Bloom Festival alongside guest vocalist BiTa, the lads set a high benchmark with their insatiable energy on stage. They quickly went on to make a name for themselves having their work played on KISS FM, Triple J Australia, RTR FM and having been covered in Drum Media, Xpress Magazine and Niji Magazine. They’ve rocked crowds in the UK, Australia, France, Turkey, France and South America but are keeping their heads down in the studio until they’re reunited to smash up clubs together again. And of course completing the line-up the Motion residents Sam Hedworth & Darren Lee Fenton, who will be playing one of their trademark back to back Motion sets. Anyone who has been to Motion before will know that these guys really tear up the dance floor with their blend of tech house, progressive and techno. Expect another beast of a set! With a new extended finishing time of 5am it promises to be one hell of a party!!! See you on the dance floor!!!
