JORDAN PEAK
Most people chance upon the world of 4/4 music in their teenage years, however a young Jordan Peak was exposed much sooner. Born just a year before the second summer of love, the youngster was raised amidst stacks of 12†vinyl and surrounded by house music from his earliest days. This extremely promising newcomer to the dance music scene was well schooled in the art of groove long before he started making music himself.
Focusing on low slung house music full of swing and swagger, Jordan has a knack for creating raw analogue charm and already encompasses a growing spectrum of sounds. Currently in the midst of a speedy ascent through the production ranks, his output already includes an intriguing set of releases, for a UK act, on labels such as Robsoul, Raum...Musik, Saved and Tsuba. This is quite an introduction to music making, considering that Jordan only released his first record in late 2009.
This year will see further releases on these labels, as well as new material on Hudd Traxx’ sister label Smoke City, and an EP on Adam Shelton and Subb-an’s exciting new One Records imprint, which is part of an intriguing new wave of UK labels. This new charge is spearheaded by the likes of Jordan and fellow Brits like Robert James – who was together named with Jordan on Radio 1’s ‘Introducing’ section of the Essential Selection as being the names to watch in 2011.
DZETA N' BASILE
Dzeta N’ Basile are a pair of prolific producers whose reputation on the scene has been escalating since joining forces 2 years ago with their names rocketing to the top of the Beatport charts & gaining great support from the likes of Silicon Soul, Nicole Moudaber, Robert Owens, Alex Jones, Amelie, Shenoda, Cozzy D, Chris Lattner, Huxley and Kruse & Nuernberg, Kevin Yost, Burnsky, Flowerz and many more.
Alongside their studio commitment lies their passion for DJing, achieved through their background in the club scene, which goes back to the early nineties and has taken them straight to the top spots in the English capital, with notable gigs for Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, The End and Egg amongst many others.
With an impressive number of signed singles and remixes due for release on highly quoted labels such as Abkal Music, Plastic City, Raw Cutz, VIVa Music, and 1Trax, their achievements are now the envy of many and they are definitely names to watch out for in 2011.
EVANS & WATERFALL
These boys have gained the interest of some of the most influential names in the scene. Musically they push the boundaries on everything from Deep House to Tech through to stripped down beats and electronic funk. Their productions have been charted by some of the most respected named DJ’s in the industry the likes of Mathias Tanzmann, Nic Fanciulli through to Brothers Vibe & Cesar Merveille and have also been featured on labels such as ViVa Music, Area Remote, Clarisse and Material Series to name a few.
Their unique Underground style of house music intended for an elite audience, is often characterised by high levels of originality and experimentation, and does not conform to typical standards, trends, or hypes as set by the popular mainstream.
