Lay Deep Presents Grooveboy Ft. Antoinette doing a Live PA & Dj Set for the launch of Bed Kandi a new monthly residency in the luxurious surroundings of Mantra Garden Bar & Club.
Grooveboy is DJ\Producers Karl Lambert and Tony Pugh two veterans of the Dublin dance music scene with residencies in some of Dublin’s best loved clubs including The Pod, Mono, and the Kitchen who after many years of successfully playing other peoples tunes decided it was time to make some of their own.
Having collaborated as DJs on many occasions it seemed only natural they would collaborate in making music. And so Grooveboy was born out of a desire to fuse their two contrasting DJ styles of dark edged Techno and funk fuelled House into one unique sound.
The usual struggle that comes with learning the complexities of digital music technology soon followed, but Grooveboy finally started to release music on their own label Monad Music.
The first Grooveboy release on Monad Music was the critically acclaimed The Beginning. They have also remixed Inspirational – Your Material Body for Cristian Paduraru’s Worldwide Exclusive Records plus a stomping reinterpretation of Drink Me by Electronic act Photosonic Orchestra which was released on GD Seventy Eight Music Inc in Germany and on 76Records from Japan.
In May 2011 they signed a 3 track E.P to one of New Yorks finest Deep House labels, Open Bar Music.
Over the last 4 months they teamed up with Antoinette Dunleavy and have since started to perform live as Grooveboy Ft. Antoinette to an overwhelming response.
