About Aaron Atkins
comeing from detroit techno city nephew of juan atkins the godfather of techno Aaron Atkins DJ I’m 22 years old I come from a tight knit family. Creativity also runs in my family and I like to be artistic with music I love all genres like my uncle Juan Atkins so I too have an appreciation for Good Music. I grew up in Detroit my whole life and I love my city and proud of the history of electronic music not just because my uncle is the Godfather father of Detroit Techno. No! I’m proud of the Movement that he was a part of creating and the fact that High Tech Soul, Detroit Techno, Electronic Music brings people together from all walks of life, all races, creeds, and ages under a groove, dancing together peacefully. The music is very powerful and it’s internationally nurtured. I want to be part of the next generation to spread the movement of peace in sound so my uncle Juan knows that everything he did was not in vain
Bio of Aaron Atkins-Metroplex Records
“Keeping it in the family,” is a just an understatement, as Aaron Atkins has been instrumental figure in the Techno scene since the early age of 8. As the nephew of “The Godfather,” music runs deep within his bloodline serving as the resident DJ for Metroplex records. Under the tutelage of Uncle Juan; Aaron, was introduced to the wheels of steel, by compiling his first mix with Clear by Cybotron, and Mike Banks’ Illumination. In addition to performing at “EVERY” Detroit Electronic Music Festival [DEMF] since its conception in 2000, the Cork Town Music Festival as well as, various night clubs all in Detroit; at 21 Atkins is well on his way to keeping the family name ongoing for decades to come.
Atkins’ states “ I want to keep my uncles legacy and record label Metroplex on the charts with new and innovative music, while following in his footsteps with presenting my music to the world.” This protege is in the process of doing just that, as we should look forward to his EP release featuring DJ Sting Ray 313 [also scheduled to perform during Movement 2012 Detroit electronic music festival ” coming in Summer 2012
