It hardly feels like 7 years ago we scraped together the little money we had as fresh faced 20 year old's to launch City Fly @ the legendary Weavers nightclub in Leicester with the Inland Knights.
Many a party later and we're still going and we've had a amazing time along the way, meeting some top people, booking some amazingly talented dj's & artists, traveled the UK/Europe and evolved from a club night into a record label and radio show.
One thing has that has always remained the same since day one though is our passion for the music and the sound we push. Rather than following the fashions, trends and trying to pull in the masses by booking the 'flavor of the month' or following the latest sound that Mixmag tell you to like we have stayed true to ourselves and pushed only quality house music with an ethos of enlightening the clubber with not necessarily what they think they want, but with something different & interesting with the intention of giving you a great party and a fresh sound!
Not only are we celebrating 7 years of running parties but we are also celebrating another significant milestone - the 2nd release on City Fly Records. After the success of the first release which achieved great things earning deep house release of the week on www.whatpeopleplay.com, reaching the top 10 chart on Juno and getting support and props from the who's who of the house scene including Groove Armada, Danny Tenaglia, Adam Shelton, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Simbad, Osunlade, DJ Spinna and Deetron to name a few we are very happy to celebrate the launch of CFR002 on this night as well for what will surely be an epic occasion!
We have invited over one of the men behind the music for this release - Pablo Valentino (Creative Swing Alliance) for an exclusive DJ set all the way from Strasbourg, France!
PABLO VALENTINO (MCDE & Faces / CSA / City Fly Records)
Pablo has been working his magic over the years with successful labels Faces & MCDE . He co-runs the already iconic and buy-on-sight MCDE imprint with Danilo Plessow and is an influential component in the label gaining notoriety and cult status with its ‘Raw Cuts’ series – ubiquitous in many a DJ’s set regardless of genre, featuring the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, The Revenge, Grooveman Spot, Inverse Cinematics, Simbad, Mono/Poly. You my also recognize him under his disguises Kid Swing & Creative Swing Alliance in which he goes under with Steven Wobblejay for his City Fly Release.
