This Saturday we shelter from the winter chill as we celebrate the anniversary of one of London’s greatest deep house institutions which has been warming clubbers for 10 years straight, Secretsundaze.
Since humble beginnings Sundaze has grown into one of the most reputable and innovative brands whilst still managing to push forward their own style of deep house and disco with amazing residents and attracting DJs; Ame, Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Craig, Luciano, Dan Ghenacia and Steve Bug to name a handful.
However, it’s not all about serious music as Sundaze has become known as one of the most exciting and fun places to be for house heads and party people alike. With two charismatic and forward thinking head honcho’s James Pristley & Giles Smith behind the wheels it’s easy to see how their passion for the Sundaze sound and atmosphere has helped influence a new generation of hedonistic clubbers. This summer’s parties became “must attend” events on the club calendar and were quickly sold out while Giles’ and James’ facial adornments have become enviable by über-trendy scenesters.
When the two get behind the decks you’re guaranteed quality as the two have shared over 40 years’ worth of experience and knowledge of DJing and always come equipped with a great payload of groovy, house bombs. It’s no surprise that James’ recent boiler room performance has been getting a shed load of blog hype.
With the brand becoming so popular this year the two have re-launched the label kicking off with a double CD compilation “10 Years of Secretsundaze” capturing the essence of a Sundaze party while a full world tour supports the release heading through Barcelona, Berlin, New York, Tokyo and Ibiza. 2011 really has been a blowout year for the brand but it ‘ain’t over ‘til it’s over’ and with the 10th December just around the corner we’re all dribbling with excitement for this one!
