  • Hey there party people! After such a successful first year 'Synth City' returns again in the New Year on Saturday 28th Janurary! We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has attended and supported the events so far and too the DJ's that have made them such great parties. 2012 looks to be equally promising if not better!!! So we are very proud to announce that our first headline act of the year will be :- NELSKI Quirky & rare individuality are elements that make up this skilled character. It’s these things that have gained this young artist support across the dance music board, with CARL COX & DEADMAU5 as examples of the wide spectrum of talent embracing his idiosyncratic sound. Summer 2010’s ‘Body Pop’ was Nelski’s first track, showcasing his inventive production habits. Habits that crafted a sound heavily supported across all of RADIO 1, with PETE TONG confirming support through crowning ‘Body Pop‘ as the opening track of his 2010 Wonderland compilation album. Alongside copious amounts of chart spots, ‘Body Pop’ went on to be featured on further compilation albums, making his first release a massive success. From then on, industry eyes intently focused on his next moves. Since, Nelski has delivered tracks that prove his consistency as a producer, showcasing his diverse sound & individual method. ‘Colours’ & ‘Minimal Life’ with CHRIS LAKE have pulled in support from dance music giants across the board, with further props coming from deadmau5 who used the track in his 2010 summer sets during his residency on the Mixmag terrace for Cream, Ibiza. And Capital FM recently jumped at the chance to exclusively preview Nelski’s recent June release, ‘Dancing’ on their Weekend Players feature. Nelski's DJing skills have seen him featured in events across the world including Belfast, Portugal, Spain & Brazil, playing with characters like Deadmau5, Michael Woods & Eric Prydz. Nelski’s greatest attribute when it comes to production is his flair for improvisation, which is exactly how he learned to play the keys on blues & jazz scales. As a result, he doesn’t read or recite pieces but constructs his works through pure feeling. Taking influences from his samba background, percussion is an obvious crucial element in the music he creates, using the Korg Wavedrum during live shows to project the sounds that neatly compliment Nelski’s most prominent factor, his voice. This summer Nelski’s live show is being released for the first time as the Whatever Makes You Happy Tour, showcasing at festivals in Scotland, Greece, Israel & Asia. To commemorate the tour, an EP made up of the Whatever Makes You Happy tour tracks will be released in September 2011 on Rising Music. “As soon as you hear a track, you can tell if someone has got ‘it’. Nelski has got ‘it’ in abundance. If I was a betting man, I would put my money on Nelski - he is about to blow! Watch this space.” Mark Knight, Toolroom Records. ........................................................................................................... ORGANIC DJ's In an industry that is saturated with talent it takes something that little bit special to step out from the crowd. Tipped as ones to watch in 2011 by Sonny Wharton, Organic DJs have received international recognition with releases on Influential House (UK), RiseUp Records (Israel), Deepsound Recordings (Canada) and home label Whartone Records (UK). In the last 12 months alone, the UK based house ...duo have featured in events in Ireland, Sweden, Ibiza as well as keeping up appearances at their UK residencies. ‘Organic DJs are by far one of THE most exciting acts to watch out for in 2011’ Sonny Wharton... It is a combination of hard work and determination that has pushed Organic DJs forward, not to mention an underlying talent to rock a crowd. Gaining their initial recognition at UK superclub Godskitchen, Organic DJs went on to feature regularly at clubbing institutes such as Gatecrasher, Passion and taking their 4 CDJ and 2 Mixer show to festival audiences performing at the Workhouse Festival (Wales) and The Wickerman Festival (Scotland) supporting the likes of X-Press2 and Hot Chip. In the studio, Organic DJs made an immediate impact with their debut release 'The Oboe' on Whartone Records. The tracks received huge support from Judge Jules, Kim Fai, Martin Roth and Riley & Durrant. This put the guys sound in high demand and they were quickly snapped up by labels Deepsound Records and Influential House to remix for their artists Re:Hab and Angel Stoxx. ‘Organic DJs sound is so groovy, perfect for the club’ David Tort If 2010 is anything to go by, then 2011 has been a defining year for Organic DJs. Their latest release '‘Amongst It EP' [Whartone Records] was released in March 2011 and entered the Beatport Whartone Chart at Number 5 within 24 hours. Forthcoming remixes include tracks for Martin Roth, Nathan C, Danny Dove, Sonny Wharton Mark Knight & Funkagenda and UK rock band Stolen Peace. ‘These boys work hard, play harder!’ Seen Magazine. ...........................................................................................................
