Secretsundaze Go Bang!

  • Daytime Session: Midday - 10.30pm Daytime Venue: The Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Road, Camden NW1 8EH Night Time Session: 10pm - 4am Night Venue: Proud Camden, The Horse Stables, Camden NW1 8AH We at secretsundaze have had all hands on deck for the last 10 days since pulling out of London Pleasure Gardens just 24 hours before the announcement that they had gone into administration. Its been tough to find a worthy alternative and we have had our work cut out for us but we are extremely happy to tell you that we will now be doing secretsundaze Go Bang! over 2 locations within 3 minutes walk from each other! We are very happy to announce that we will be hosting the day event at the Roundhouse and the night party at Proud, both in Camden. For the daytime and for this special event we have pulled out all stops at the Roundhouse. As one of London’s most iconic venues, this Grade II listed building provides stunning surroundings and facilities of sound, lighting and more to kick off secretsundaze Go Bang! The night time location of Proud Gallery in Camden was also considered at length. The venue which is essentially converted stables and is now considered as a cultural hub is made up of 2 main rooms but has plenty of nooks and crannies to get lost in plus a lovely garden and we felt it a perfect counter balance to the more grandiose main room dominated Roundhouse. A more intimate, heads down venue - we think it will work well for the night time session. Of course not forgetting the fact that its just 3 minutes walk from the Roundhouse making it extremely easy to access for the many of you that have purchased combined day and night tickets. With a lineup that extends the secretsundaze ethos further beyond its usual classic house and techno parameters, its focus firmly on quality. And with accomplished and renowned electronic musician Motor City Drum Ensemble, plus The Secret Agency’s Arkist, Youandewan and Photomachine, joining Matthew Herbert, Four Tet, Levon Vincent, Sven Weisemann, Ben UFO, Brawther, Giles Smith and James Priestley on the lineup, it just got a whole lot more impressive! Despite fitting so well with its musical heritage, Motor City Drum Ensemble has never played for secretsundaze – until now. secretsundaze Go Bang! is thrilled to announce MCDE as a further addition to the already impressive lineup – his first appearance in the UK since January! He is a huge talent, with Moodymann bigging up his music, and his DJ Kicks LP acclaimed for its rich musical roots. Headliner Matthew Herbert is one of the most celebrated English electronic artists of the last 15 years. His work is renowned for its eclecticism and recognised for its inspired genre-bending – he is an artist in every sense of the word. His latest album – ‘Tesco’, released under his Wishmountain alias, due on July 16th – comprises eight tracks, each created using eight sounds made by a particular item found in a supermarket. Four Tet (aka Kieran Hebden) is one of the biggest stars in dance music today, whose new album – ‘Pink’, due in August on Text Records – showcases just why he’s so well respected. His open-minded approach to DJing and production has seen him rise to the top of his game, and his ability to mix styles on his hugely well-received Fabric mix CD last year earned him props from many camps. Levon Vincent is a big-room player who’s moved the much-loved NY muscle sound forward. His unique releases on his own imprint Novel Sound are hugely anticipated sellouts, and his DJing is in equal demand. Sven Weisemann is self taught on piano, guitar and percussion and is quite the turntablist. Productions range from the sweetest deep house on Mojuba, to his more dubstep-orientated project Desolate. secretsundaze Go Bang! presents his debut live set! Hessle Audio’s Ben UFO is one of very few DJs to make it purely off the back of his DJing. He is dedicated to unearthing the best records, joining the dots between bass, garage, techno and house with his excellent mixing skills. One of house music’s most talented new producers, Brawther understands the purist ‘90s US house vibe, and has had big props from Chez Damier, releasing on his Balance imprint. secretsundaze Go Bang! has also made some additions to the Secret Agency stage, with up-and coming artists from the worlds of house, garage, techno and bass: Bristolian Arkist – who has collaborated with Appleblim and released on Hotflush; Photomachine – a young talent who has released on 2020 Vision and has been booked to play alongside Moodymann and Scuba; and finally Youandewan who is tipped for greatness by those in the know with his slick soulful vibe. A showcase of young, vibrant emerging UK talent from The Secret Agency's roster, this arena provides a distinct alternative to the secretsundaze arena, with Wbeeza, Sei A, Ill Blu, DJRUM, Al Tourettes and Citizen. secretsundaze co-founders James Priestley and Giles Smith are keen to push boundaries. “secretsundaze Go Bang! is an opportunity for us to explore the full spectrum of music we are currently digging,” explains Giles Smith. “It has always been about real deal house and techno, never pandering to the latest fad or hype. But in recent years we have been excited and inspired by a younger generation of artists who bring fresh things to the table. We want to embrace all forms of cutting edge electronic music. With the full lineup now announced, it’s time to grab your tickets to the first ever secretsundaze Go Bang! event! This all day-into-night party will be one to remember...
