Bavarian Claus Voigtmann is a relatively fresh name within electronic music terms, however; a rapidly noted one. Influenced by his father’s love of music since childhood Claus was exposed to a large record collection including jazz, rock, blues and classical.His artistic yet structured approach to expressionism crosses over from architecture into dj’ing and production, dedicating himself tirelessly to music research and the philosophies and components of sound structure.
The result; an artist who although not ‘long term’ in sense of years, has an ever increasing catalogue of knowledge, taste and skill providing what appears to be a long road ahead of him. A constantly evolving ear adds to his progression as producer; a recent vinyl remix release on Brazilian Trama Records was highly praised and noted by Brazilian DJ Mag as an absolute killer. Claus continues to work in the studio on solo projects and collaborations with a series of other artists. Fearless and defiant to trends and hype, Voigtmann is defining himself day by day as an artist that will go from strength to strength.Intricately chosen depths, smooth jazz, sensual house, deep bass lines and raw and tough minimal and techno elements filter their way through a collage of powerful and provoking soundscapes.
The effect is more than just dance worthy but a solid musical experience spun with clear technical competence.There is no such way to define what Claus produces when behind the decks, only that its intelligence and musical ability is always prominent and never dull.
