HOSTILE TAKEOVER
French DJ and producer Nicolas Masseyeff released his debut album, The Motherland, on Stephan Bodzins Herzblut Recordings. The Frenchman has long been associated with Bodzins label, turning in a number of well-received cuts since first hooking up in 2008. His sound signature to date has been a varied take on dancefloor facing tech house, with releases on other labels like Systematic, Tsuba and Boxer all under his belt.
This new album, though, draws on a much wider sonic palate: it goes deeper and more introverted than before, making it as suited to home listening as it is to club dancing. From the off, the album is laced with a noticeable musicality that separates it from normal two-tone tech, and in fact opener Tsuka features a heart-broken and melancholic piano line that draws you in with teary eyes‚
Andreas Henneberg. Born in Berlin and still living, loving & working in this beautiful pulsating city. Founder of Voltage Musique Records‚ and Cascandy‚ as well as part of The Glitz and. Feeling home at the well established and in Bremen based ‚Plantage13 family. Releasing on record labels like IDEAL Audio, Voltage Musique, Confused Recordings, Herzblut, AREAL, Kiddaz.FM, Material and Toolroom. Truly one of the most productive people in electronic music scene even if you dont know. You can find him behind the scenes since the mid 90s as a producer, label owner, mastering-engineer and of course as a DJ. A vast number of productions, publications and releases are the result of 15 years studio and label experience. Andreas is located somewhere between Tech-house, Minimal and Techno simply because he is killing all borders around. In his Dj-Sets he is summing up these genres in a very compatible and functional way.
Die Vögel can be classifeied as a techno live band. They use a variety of instruments such as trumpets which complement their techno undercurrent. Their hit Blaue Moschee could be heard across the world and was a favorite of many Djs, most notably Sven Vaeth.
