When qodibop performed at 'SONAR SOUND TOKYO' in 2004, they sold the most CDs at the festival than any other bands that year, even though no one heard of the band before their performance. In the following year, they released their 1st album "another tone form" via third-ear, and they have continued to play shows and work on their productions in Sapporo, Hokkaido. This spring, qodibop is set to release a full album "become color". It's their first full album in 7 years.
They infuse electronica elements into their raw live sound and simple minimalistic rock. The entire album has more positive feel than any of their previous releases. As a result of experimenting and infusing a various kind of elements, from dubby/funky bass line to even tropical-ish guitar sound combined with emotional drumming style, this album will without a doubt appeal to many music fans, especially those who are into post rock bands like Tortoise. The album consists of 11 songs, including #4 outline draw which features Iioka's funky bass, you can enjoy and hear how Motoyama develops the melody on his guitar in #5 turn on, and #6 stripe will definitely heat up the show with Saito's intense drumming. qodibop is to play a release party on April 7th in Sapporo and is planning a nationwide tour this year.
