Only spinning the grooviest tunes, Ex’s sets blend deep-cuts of classic house with aussie nu-disco, deep-funk, new-wave, and Detroit-influenced tech-house with a couple drops of acid. Spinning in the past with artists including DJ Apt One, Matthew Kyle, In Flagranti and Anoraak; Ex Ex Ex has big plans in store for NYC. GEORGE VALA (Smiley Fingers, Lovemonk, Groove Democracy) http://www.soundcloud.com/georgevala http://www.georgevala.com/ With an extensive background in world and orchestral music, years of performing live, and an undying thirst for making people move, George hit the dance music scene in 2009 with an arsenal of inspiration. Over the last few years he has honed his sound both as a producer and DJ. His productions have been featured on three Buddha Bar compilations and have garnered support from artists such as Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna, MAETRIK, Space Ranger, Mark Knight, Markus Schulz, Super Flu, BLOND:ISH, Israel Vich and more. Owner of Boom Bam Pow Music, George has been behind two of Boston's biggest house music projects, Sunday Groove and ÆREA. Signed to the Smiley Fingers [UK] family in the Spring of 2010, his first release with the label, "Octapodi", defined Vala's sound in the world of organic tech house. Hot on the heels of his last solo EP "She Leaves Marks" , Vala returns in 2012 with several original releases and upcoming remixes for Abyss, Alfonso Padilla, and Ojos de Brujos. His most recent Madonna rework with collaborator, Audioprophecy, "Holidazed" rounded out NELUE's latest Groove Democracy project "Spain vs. USA Vol 1", which sat firmly on Juno Downloads top ten chart. LEUNICH (Apwood Recordings) http://soundcloud.com/leunich https://www.facebook.com/Leunich To pinpoint Leunich’s sound is to understand the emotions expressed in his complex and textured sets. Drawing inspiration from across the musical spectrum, from minimal to dark techno, deep and progressive house, to jazz and opera, Leunich crafts his musical journeys with little regard for genre and trend. This very eclecticism shines through in his productions as he explores the boundaries of music, both stylistically and technically, often fusing roaring live instruments with digital MIDI programming. In the end, the goal is simple – to connect with the audience using music as a common ground. Leunich’s attention to this “simple goal” has already earned him residencies at many of New York’s hotspots. Starting from his deep house journeys at Plunge at The Gansevoort to his Sunday jubilees on the roof deck of AVA Lounge at the Dream; the connection to the audience has always been the one constant propelling his musical voyage. The last year saw Leunich start his own brand of underground party, Tech La Di - playing with the likes of Erphun, Adam X, John Selway, 16 Bit Lolitas, George Vala & Audioprohecy, and Tamer Malki. With 2011 in the books, Leunich’s focus for the future is undoubtedly to spread his passion and commitment to music around the world – always learning, always evolving, reaching forward and striving to continue making connections with his signature sound. SEBASTIAN LAFOSSE (Radio West Broadway) http://radiowestbroadway.tumblr.com/ http://soundcloud.com/radiowestbroadway Growing up in Paraguay , Nicaragua , Chile , Hungary , Brazil , France and now residing in New York City, Sebastian Lafosse’s multicultural upbringing has set firm roots in his understanding and appreciation for music . His musical exposure spans the expanse of Bela Bartok to Laurent Garnier, swinging through the rhythms of Salvador ’s batucada, to more minimal Villalobosesque sound. Sebastian’s electronic music awakening happened one night at le Palace in Paris in 1996 and the year after at le Rex Club where Garnier was playing along with Mike Banks from U.R. With his interest piqued and ear slowly becoming tuned to the scene he lived through the minimal explosion of Luciano Nicolet, Ricardo Villalobos, Dandy Jack and Felipe Venegas in Santiago de Chile. Always learning from the pioneers and simultaneously establishing himself on the DJ circuit, he is equiped with a broad stylistic range, able to span classic deep house and Detroit techno. Sebastian’s sound is influenced by giants like Garnier, Cox, Mills, Vaeth, Hawtin and more recently by the power of the growing NY Nu-Disco scene. He had several residencies since 2002 in Paris , Santiago and New York - most notably: No Rules @Paris // Electrochampetres @Chazelles // Cavalla @Santiago // Bar81 @Santiago // Marquee @NY // Chloe81 @NY // One66 @NY // LinaFrey @NY // 155Riv @NY
