  • FUTRA PRESENTS Surefire Sound Spring Tour 2012 ~ In celebration of the Addison Groove "Transistor Rhythm" album and the Doc Daneeka & Benjamin Damage "They!Live" album - both released earlier this year on Modeselektor's 50Weapons label~ ADDISON GROOVE (50Weapons/ Swamp 81/ Tectonic) Anthony Williams aka Addison Groove started out life under a different pseudonym altogether. Recording as Headhunter with an LP and 12" releases on the influential Tempa label stretching back to 2007, he achieved legendary status within the dubstep scene. His work at the deeper end of the spectrum graced the label an impressive seven times, a figure matched only by luminaries such as Skream. This work looked as though it would continue until 2012, when, seemingly out of nowhere, he crafted one of the biggest bass music tracks of the decade, "Footcrab," under the new name of Addison Groove. The response to "Footcrab" was phenomenal, receiving critical and commercial success in equal measure across the dance music scene. Getting plays not only from the dubstep DJs that Williams was used to reaching, it also found its way into the record boxes of techno and house heavyweights such as Aphex Twin, Surgeon, Ricardo Villalobos and Mr. Scruff, bringing an enormous new audience to his music in the process. Taking influences from the Chicago ghetto tek and juke scenes, Addison Groove's impact on UK bass music has been colossal and unprecedented, sparking a huge interest in these styles from his peers and the listening public alike. Progressing at a breakneck pace, he was quick to develop a live 808 show which has graced some of the finest nightclubs in the world including Fabric, London and Berlin's infamous Berghain. With his hectic touring schedule including USA, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and numerous dates in Europe, he continues to bring his hybrid sound to captivated audiences across the globe. Addison Groove's debut album 'Transistor Rhythm' on Berlin's 50WEAPONS out now. DOC DANEEKA (50Weapons/ Ramp / TenThousandYen) It's not common for an artist based in Wales to become the toast of underground music, but Doc Daneeka is just that. With releases on Ramp, Fabric, PTN, & Well Rounded in the bag, Doc Daneeka has started his own boutique label, Ten Thousand Yen, releasing other fresh artists like xxxy, Julio Bashmore as well as his own unique material. Bookings all around Europe at the end of last year solidified Doc Daneekas energetic DJ sets as one of the most sought after performances by clubs all around the world. Delivering scorching mixes for the likes of Fact Mag & Xlr8r, trademark rattling drums and punchy low end characterise this producers unclassifiable DJ sets, as well as countless unreleased dubs. Doc Daneeka makes some of the best house music around right now - with peers in Hackman, Roska and Julio Bashmore, he favours syncopated beats and polyrhythms over linear drive, and has remixed Delphic, Digital Mystikz and more in the past to great effect. His releases for PTN have shown eight slabs of colourful house almost impossible to avoid getting physical to. He finished 2010 nominated for best breakthrough Dj for DJ MAG and 2012 will see the first debut collab album with Benjamin Damage "THEY!LIVE" surface on Modeselektor's 50Weapons imprint. Doc Daneeka is delivering the goods, while wearing the weight of internet expectation. Uk Dance music's health and sound has never been so rude. KURU (Media Contender/ Muse) Long time collaborators Ryan Origin and Jeffrey Francis Tovar wanted to change the way they were participating in music, so the KURU project was born. Combining elements of bass, techno, and progressive dance music, KURU rocks dancefloors and captivates audiences with their unique brand of left-leaning sonics. Busy in the studio since 2008, their collaborations and original music have found their way onto some of the most seminal imprints in dance music today, with exponential growth on the horizon. On stage, their live performances cover ground untouched by others; dual-laptops with synced visuals by Brian Markman create the perfect conditions to get lost in the worlds they design.
