Next up for the 2nd instalment of our bi-monthly Illusion boogies in Leeds' amazing new club 'The Garage' sees us welcome some of our favourite music selectors up to Leeds for a real true house heads get together. We're pleased to be hosting Part 2 of Northern Purpose's '1 YEAR' celebrations by welcoming up to Leeds, Carl & Brendan from Northern Purpose, Madrid's Dubbyman and the capitals favourite selector, the amazing Jane Fitz.
For all those unfamiliar with Northern Purpose, Northern Purpose is an amazing deep house night held in London, put on by staunch Northerners Carl Hardy and Brendan. Fierce house heads with a proper passion for proper deep house, they are keen vinyl collectors both with huge, enviable record collections of old and rare deep house records. This depth of knowledge really shows in their music and the bookings for their London parties which have included Rick Wade, Scott Ferguson, Specter, Home Park, Joy Orbison and our guests Dubbyman and Jane Fitz. This is music for house purists and a party for proper ravers!
We've been fans of our main guests for many years so we are really excited to bring such a quality line-up to Leeds. We've been keeping on eye on Dubbyman since his early outings on his wicked Deep Explorer and Minuendo labels and we are a big fan of his detroit inspired house. He played at Northern Purpose in London last year and from reports he absolutely smashed the party to pieces so we can't wait to see what he digs out for this his Leeds debut. Our next guest Jane Fitz really needs no introduction. We've known her for years but not known her! We used to rock out at her amazing Peg Parties in London many moons ago and always grabbed her mixes she used to post on the internet over ten years ago which we still listen to know. She's really lasted the test of time as she just plays quality music from start to finish. Anyone who regularly tunes in to her Dirty Sounds radio shows or has seen her spin recently will tell you how good she is. She's not one for blowing her trumpet so we'll do it for her, this girl can lay down some beats. So believe the hype and get down to these two special DJs.
Offering support on the night will be Illusion residents Tom Craven and James Cotteril and the Waxwerks record store / bar / Room 2 is to be hosted by City Fly Records (Jonna and Ash Stevenson) and Zutekh's Damian Simon from Manchester. All 3 guys hail from the house Mecca of Leicester and are popping up to Leeds to throw down some alternative house goodness in this amazing space.
