From the start of this year Deluxe started with a local legend, Glen Lewis, and through this set the springboard for starting the year off with a bang, unlike most places who finish on a high. The high continued through internationals Ralf Gum, Andy Compton, Lady Bird, Charles Webster; and now Nick Holder.
Nick has been in the industry for roughly 30 years, with 20 of them being spent in the production aspect. He is the founder of DNH Records and has seen an array of releases through his label with the biggest names in the house music industry. Despite being able to call on many international artists, as of recent he chose to invest into the South African culture where he has a large following. He ventured into projects with local artists Sphelele and Zaki Ibrahim which saw him strengthen his foothold in a country where house music dominates, yet without using the influence of afro which has taken the world by storm. Clearly Nick is not someone who follows trends, he does what he does and this is why he is followed by so many.
Summer Daze is the top selling release by DNH Records, however South Africans mainly know him for one track, it can only be noted as an anthem and nothing else. The track ‘Family’ is like no other, it unites every last soul in the club and breaks divides across all barriers allowing everyone within that moment to truly feel like family.
