Their concept is simple: to use their 20 year history to fuse absolute heroes of house music alongside rising techno stars, a collision of classic meets new. And what a party they have in store...
After rocking the WOW! opening party in January, we had to invite the Italian duo, Supernova, back to play again! Emiliano “EMIJAY†Nencioni and Giacomo “G.O.D.I.†Godi have shot to fame through their production hits. Their debut album, Downtown Underground, DJ Sneaks remix of their That’s What I Like and their own interpretation of Kerri Chandlers classic Hallelujah, propelled them into the limelight. They’ve continued working with major players such as Strictly Rhythm, Defected, Great Stuff, Stereo Productions, King Street, Tronic and have toured around the globe. Their single featuring Kevin Saunderson (Nirvana Recordings/Toolroom) was massive last year and their recent rmx of the classic Strings Of Life found greater heights. Their hybrid live/dj set showcases a wide variation of sounds, blending funky, sexy & groovy house. Since their last WOW! appearance they have traveled the globe smashing every dancefloor and have been invited to play at Spain’s biggest electronic music festival next month, the mighty desert rave that is Monegros. We can’t wait to have them back…
Next up we welcome Israel’s techno star, Shlomi Aber. “No matter if it’s hard or soft, it just needs to touch your mind, body and soul at the same time. That's what I call a ‘Good Record’.†Creating some serious techno anthems over the past decade on labels that include Cocoon, Ovum, R&S, Objectivity and Renaissance, Shlomi is at the top of his game. 5 years ago he introduced his Be As One label to the world, an imprint producing the finest underground house and techno, that has continued to be a firm favorite with the world's elite. His sets are deep, seductive and full of energy, prepare to be shaken on the 30th June…
SIMI was born and raised at napoli. The first time he saw a dj was at 12 years old. Passion at first sight. Immediately he manifests an interest for hiphop and particularly for scratch and turntablism before moving into the realms of house and techno. In 1998 he made an italian hip-hop project called La Famiglia, selling 30000+ copies and writing the history of this genre in italy. After 10 years the 2 albums of La Famiglia keep on inspiring all the new italian hip-hop artistes... In 2000, together fabio "masterkeys" he creates a series of projects that start to go into the history of club culture (their productions are released on labels like intec/23rd century of carl cox, yoshitoshi of sharam, sci-tec of dubfire). In 2006 dj magazine asked carl cox to choose one dj to face off for a special covermount cd. The british techno superstar selected dj simi, above all others. Then in 2008, came simi's debut release on dubfireÃs sci+tec label. The two tracker hit proved cavagnuolo was just as capable of producing dark detroit and berlin inspired bleep thrillers, as he was at creating chicago-led floor fillers. His new project is kenpo recordings, a new label started in 2010 and continues to push new sounds. We look forward to welcoming him back to WOW!
Our forth headliner is Gel Abril. Recording on Ovum, Renaissance, Get Physical and on Shlomi Aber’s Be As One imprint, Gel has crafted a special sound that has had Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler, Dennis Ferrer, Agoria and Valentino Kanzyani among others, licensing his music for album comps. His techno rumble has found its way into leading players sets and his dj schedule continues to rocket. We look forward to unleashing him upon the WOW! crowd at the end of the month…
