Fruitbat [Sacramento, CA] http://soundcloud.com/tha-fruitbat Tha Fruitbat is an electronic music maker best known for his disorienting arrays of synth and sample tones, woven together atop complex breakbeats and mutated basslines. His background as a trained musician (drums, bass, guitar and percussion) and audio engineer enables Tha Fruitbat to play, sample and record his own sounds into his compositions, creating his own unique beats. In addition to his solo work Tha Fruitbat is responsible for creating other projects with various Northern California electronic musicians. These include Hysterisis Loop, a four person live electronic outfit that has performed in many cities throughout California, in venues small and large including the DNA Lounge in San Francisco and Sacramento’s Arco Arena. As well as ReptilianBassStation with Ratchet and a revolving cast of local producers. SkullDrops [San Francisco, CA] *Skulltrane + Lotus Drops* http://soundcloud.com/skulldrops http://soundcloud.com/skulltrane http://soundcloud.com/lotusdrops (Skulltrane) Proudly hailing from Detroit, now residing in San Francisco. Since 2007 the Bay Area is toying with disaster by laying on a huge fault line with talent such as SKULLTRANE. Producing her original jawdropping beats with releases on MalLabel Music, Daly City Records and Badman Press. She has remixed and collaborated with quite a few of the more notable bass heavy producers Mochipet, MC Zulu, Blackheart, 6 Blocc, Taso, DZ, Roomate, Mr. Boogie & Helicopter Showdown to name a few. Live, Skulltrane's legendary explosive, mind bending, multi-genre mayhem inducing live sets have led her to perform next to such legendary acts as Datsik, Reso, Nadastrom, DJ Assault, Liquid Stranger, Vaski, Starkey, Zion-i, Nasty Nasty, Stagga & Downlink. Her musical influences for the most part draw from her roots in Detroit's now infamous '90's Techno and Hip-Hop scene which she has seamlessly incorporated these inspirational elements into her own production and live performances. Fast mixing, dramatic tempo changes and massive baselines drops to your dome Skulltrane will never leave a booty un-bounced. Lotus Drops has been bringing it full on in the bay area since her debut in March 2008 and is fully blasting through the roof. She delivers it full on and is constantly finding ways to get your booty shaking and your soul elevated in these drastic times. Its time for the next round of sounds of what she describes as Psychedelic Dubstep Goddess Womp. Be prepared to get the real rinse out....because Lotus is locked and loaded and ready to Drop it like its hot. Grymesly [San Francisco, CA] http://soundcloud.com/grymelsy http://facebook.com/Grymelsy Grymelsy, AKA Stephen Meinke, emerged from the city of fullerton to join the OC circut of bass music back in October of 2010. Since then, he has played several of the local weekly, monthly, and exclusive hot spot shows from Palm Springs to LA. Some of these include the well established 740 club in LA and even MECCA festival in the Mecca desert, and more recently, has been holding down the Yost theater in Santa Ana with multiple bookings. FRONT ROOM: Hosted by Hot N' Heavy SUBLO [San Francisco, CA] http://soundcloud.com/sublo Seattle native Jerel Bromley aka Sublo began his musical career performing classically on double bass in Orchestras at the age of ten. An ear for dense melodic compositions and sound design lead to an obsession with electronic bass music and in 2005 he began investing time and money into instrumental production. Influenced heavily by dub culture, Sublo crafts a unique sound which blends the variety of influences ranging from Baroque to Grime. Signed to Shift recordings in 2009, Sublo has quickly become a key producer in the west coast bass scene, further signing onto Phantom Hz, Gradient Audio, Hot N Heavy Recordings, and Brap Dem, with radio support from Rinse FM, BBC 1xtra, and Sub FM. When not working away in the studio, Sublo keeps busy opening for acts such as Rusko, Truth, Noah D, Joker, Emalkay, DZ, J:Kenzo and more. A keen sense of sound design and addictive melodies are the only expectation; the sound of Sublo has become defined by keys, grimey bass and slapping percussion with a heavy sub that runs as low and loud as possible... Commodore 69 [San Francsico, CA] http://soundcloud.com/commodore69 Commodore 69 began production in 2007 and has since released on Formation Records (UK), Badman Digital (Canada) and his own imprint Hot N Heavy (SF). He has remixes out on Sub Philo Music (Seattle) and THaF Records (UK) with more in the works. In November 2009 he established Hot N Heavy Recordings as a way to highlight the diverse palette of Underground Dance/Bass Music from producers across the globe. Ground Control [San Francisco, CA] http://soundcloud.com/ground_control Jason Apple, aka Ground Control, is a San Francisco based bass music producer and DJ. His productions draw heavily from bassline and early rave music, with stops on the way at dubstep, funky, electro, and breakbeat. Ground Control's debut record, "Be Nice," was released on En:Vision Records in June 2008. He has since released music on such labels as Play Me and Sleevin Records, with forthcoming releases on Hot N Heavy and Illeven:Eleven. As a DJ, Ground Control has played at some of the Bay Area's biggest parties, including Icebreakers Ball, Freqo de Mayo, Ghostship, and Breakfast of Champions, sharing the stage with Tipper, Adam Freeland, Jack Beats, Calvertron, DJ Icey, Bassbin Twins, and Reid Speed to name just a very few.
