NO COVER NO EXCUSE
We've already weathered a heat wave or two, so we thought it was high time to embrace the sweat and go in deep. After a taste of techno last month, it seemed a wise move to explore the sound further.
First up comes Thefft out of London. With releases on Fulcrum & Cut, and DJ support from Disclosure, Loefah, Oneman, & Mary Anne Hobbs, it was a no brainer to call upon this Londoner for a set to tickle our New York souls. Recently touted as one of the best new British 4x4 techno artists of today by Fact Magazine.
We're also honored to feature Juakali from Dubwar NYC. Since he moved to LA, it's always a rare treat to hear Jua bless the mic in the dance. We're super excited to not only have him toasting, throughout the night, but to also hear a set of his latest material.
Given the roots and connections of this Tandem, we decided to invite a bunch of local friends that we felt complimented their talents. First up is Policy. Based in Brooklyn, signed to Rush Hour, his release slate is impressive. The latest Policy 12" dropped earlier this month with remixes from Falty DL and Tom Trago. Policy's original productions have received DJ support from Brackles, George Fitzgerald & Blind Prophet.
Second comes Nihal Ramchandani, who represents one of our favorite local beat purveyors; Percussion Lab. Nihal harnesses the deepest of grooves into fluid, introspective journeys.
Last but not least, the man behind the mixer behind Archie Pelago, in comes Hirshi. We know Hirshi can lead a crowd into his control while manning the rhythm behind Archie Pelago's live show, so we're excited to hear him exhibit the same craft with the beats he's feeling alongside his own solo productions.
And as always knomad will be filling in the gaps to both facilitate and juxtapose the meditation. Join us below the tank, past the deep end.
