  • The July Fresh Kicks at 93 Feet East brings a feast of dancefloor fun. Headlining on the night are Arveene & Misk, who will be giving us the London debut of their new ‘Acid Future’ live show. Also on the bill are ASBO head honchos Riotous Rockers. ARVEENE & MiSK (LIVE) (Animal Language / Bang Gang / Ed Banger) Straight from the cities of Dublin and London, Arveene & MiSK are a production/DJ duo, who over the past two years have taken the underground by storm. As remixers, their credits read like a who’s who in electronic dance music, including the likes of Mr. Oizo, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Felix the Housecat, Zombie Nation and more recently Kelis on labels such as Kitsune, Ed Banger, Bang Gang, and Turbo. The same could be said about their supporters, among them being Fake Blood, Annie Mac, Tiga, Busy P, DJ Mehdi, Brodinski, Boy 8-bit, Burns, Sinden, Jaymo & Andy George, and of course Erol Alkan, who has backed Arveene & MiSK since day one. They have a number of well received and critically acclaimed released under their belt on some great labels, including Bang Gang, Animal Language (Mason’s label), Plant (NY), Arcade Pony and Mofo Hifi. 2012 is already in full swing for the lads, with another release on Animal Language, a re-vamped and re-released Hells Bells, a track on ‘The Fresh Collection 2’, a couple of killer remixes in circulation and an album in the works. Watch this space... RIOTIOUS ROCKERS (ASBO) Riotous Rockers were formed after a chance meeting on the dance floor of London's Fabric nightclub in the summer of 2003. Pete and Boggy soon realised that their eclectic musical tastes were destined to smash the dancefloors! A melting pot of musical genre's was the basis for their set's, where clubbers witnessed anything from Pop, Rock, Electro, Techno, Disco, House and Indie blended together in their own unique fashion. The DJ partnership was cemented as residents at the infamous Liars Club in their hometown Nottingham, playing alongside bands like Franz Ferdinand, The Klaxons, Bloc Party and Scissors Sisters long before they became household names. Before long they were playing regularly for U.K promoters like Bugged Out, Fabric, Stealth & Wax:On and further afield throughout Europe and beyond including sets for Manumission and Space, Ibiza, Le Social Club, Paris and a residency for Razzamatazz Barcelona. In 2005 their own club night ASBO was born with partner in crime Alvin C. Still going strong ASBO remains one of London's longest running free nights, second Saturday of the month at Camden Lock Tavern. ASBO's extended family has grown over the years with like minded dj's playing guests slots including Erol Alkan, Fake Blood, Optimo, Joakim, Horse Meat Disco, Simian Mobile Disco and The Glimmers. FRANK TAMA (aka djtamagotchi) (Matta of sound) / (House of Cards) /(www.unknownfm.net) DJ TamaGotchi started DJing at age 14, spinning Grime with a collective named Magic Fingers. After much back and forth on style and direction he has ended up with an underground house leaning that he feels best reflects who he is musically. He is now a regular on UNKNOWN FM where he is beginning to make a mark, with his energy journey style specialism of deep/tech/minimal house. A welcome return, and a fresh powerful bass line, definitely makes him one to watch for the future, as he builds a fruitful club career. SHEA BURKE Up and coming upstart DJ, Shae Burke, is a lifelong fan of House Music. He got into mixing at the age of 11, when he received a pair of Turntables as a birthday present, and hasn’t looked back since. His own productions tend to lean toward a deep and techy sound, but his eclectic taste make his DJ sets much more varied, spanning Deep, Tech and soulful House and even throwing in a little Techno for good measure. Definitely one to watch for the future. THE PINK BAR S*mplified Recordings run the Pink Bar. On duty will be label boss Kelly Sylvia and guests. They will be laying down some deep and dubby house and techno grooves all night. KELLY SYLVIA Label boss for S*mplified Recordings, Kelly is an amazing DJ and producer. She is also one of the founders of Global DJ agency Shejay. A girl of many talents, she will be doing what she does best for us, laying down some killer grooves and setting the perfect atmosphere. S*mplified’s guest this month will be… LAURA ESSENCE Laura has played for many credible nights in London, and regularly plays at Ministry of Sound, Pacha, East Village, The House & Terrace, The White House, and many more. She has been luckily enough to support some of her personal favorite DJs Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Steve Angelo, Sebastian Leger and Pete Tong – Wonderland.
