Summer @ Tresor Club: the August vibe leads you to our towering factory and the imposing facade only hints at the powerful sounds that you will experience once inside. Fridays this August are Tuna Summerpark nights and tonight we give it up for a night of showcasing the BCR label. Backwater Community Recordings is a Glasgow, Scotland label run by Joseph McGeechan & Colin Bain who are also known as the BCR Boys. Joseph McGeechan’s new solo project iFormat has a darker, more aggressive, industrial sound. Heavily influenced by the sinister and eerie soundscapes of sci-fi and horror movies, these give a disturbing sense of foreboding to McGeechan’s dystopian, post-punk exploration of the decay of society. iFormat's debut album “As the lines break” on Nachtstrom Schallplatten is one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of 2012. Brace yourself for his bristling live set tonight. Brazilian-born DJ Urbano is now based in Germany and also records on Egocentric; Monya is originally from Poland and is currently working on her first album for BCR and is busy doing remixes and EPs for other labels like Illegal Alien Records, New Yorker Label Kume Records and for many well known artists. Monya's sound is industrial, bass-heavy, hypnotic techno. ad.lib is a common abbreviation for "ad libitum" which is latin and means "at one's pleasure". From Switzerland, ad.lib's music contains a lot of the raw energy and the density inspired by early techno sounds of Detroit. Heavy sub-basses, evolving patterns, intense atmospheres and layers of weird effects and dubby chords. Upstairs the Globus Floor Exercise One returns to lay down their unforgettable live set. Exercise One is the boisterous mobilee duo that bustles with kinetic energy and thrives on the stage. To DJs they are the crafters of cracking tracks on wax; to clubbers around the world they’re the live act that hurtle forwards like a runaway train. In their own words they are "driving a car named 'Techno' off a cliff, into the sea of endless possibilities." Berlin-based Marco Freivogel and Ingo Gansera are Exercise One, were both seasoned musicians before they met, and in a short time their respective backgrounds as live performers combined with the energy of Berlin to create an outfit with an abundance of creativity. Resident house DJ and Tresor Records artist Todd Bodine is also a prestigious Highgrade alumni and Berlin DJ du jour, playing highly effective and deliciously intelligent house for the future. Falko Brocksieper is the founder of the Sub Static and Karloff Rekordings labels that have jointly seen over 100 releases, including his own second album in 2008. In 2003 his first album "Hoax Deluxe", saw his style between hypnotic minimalism and an edgy analog sound. Daniel.fx was raised in Antwerp and musically influenced and programmed by the Belgian club sounds since the early beginnings in 1993. Moving to Berlin, Daniel.fx got the first regular club engagement at Pfefferberg-Haus 13. From 2002 on he had several bookings in the capitals clubs. Together with the DJs Daniel Dreier, Boris and Ahmet Coskun he founded the Berliner Stadtmusikanten in 2003, a musical platform for electronic artists.
