ARTIST BIOGS;
(Nicky and Rusty)
Nicky Da B is at the forefront of the next
generation of New Orleans Bounce Rappers.
He is currently earning huge accolades for
his most recent work with Grammy nominated
producer Diplo on "Express Yourself" currently
in rotation on MTV and an NPR Song of the Day.
His ground-breaking video for "Hot Potato Style"
and his sold out headlining performance at the
Sydney Opera House this past June.
His style is deliberately smoother than many
of his Bounce contemporaries though his lyrics
are no less explicit and his very unique delivery...
lying somewhere between the rapid fire vocalizations
of Jamaican Dancehall and the call and response
party-style chants of NoLa Bounce, complimented by a
rap lyricism not usually associated with the genre.
He uses his voice naturally (and unnaturally!) to
create the chopped vocal sound that many other
rappers do via the producers' magic fingers.
His live performance is highlighted by several
choreographedsongs featuring his three amazing dancers
and his DJ Rusty Lazer.
Upcoming events for 2012 include shows with Diplo
& Major Lazerat SW4 Festival & Notting Hill Canival,
Pop Montreal, Fun Fun Fun, and Pride events around
the country in September, then coming to the UK & Europe
for dates in October.
Add to that three more video releases and a new record
over the summer featuring remixes and beats by the best
producers of New Orleans Bounce and new sounds from some
very surprising sources.
Rusty Lazer is a DJ from New Orleans, Louisiana
that specializes in the street music of his adopted home town.
Though known primarily as the live DJ and creative partner of
gender-bending Sissy Bounce Rapper Big Freedia and now Nicky Da B,
as a solo DJ Rusty Lazer spins songs from the three hundred year
old repertoire of street music his decadent city has to offer.
In a single set, dancers are likely to hear the hypnotic beat
of the Mardi Gras Indians, Hot Jazz from the early 20th century,
Twists from the 50's, Soul and R&B from the 1960's and 70's,
Brass Band jams stretching across all of these eras
and even the modern block party sounds of NOLA Hip Hop
and the most up to date, fresh-from-the-streets Bounce Music
plus anything else he's in love with that makes the booties go!.
Other Music Records in New York calls his set;

sound of the 'Nolia (New Orleans). Rusty Lazer ain't for the prudes,
but it's some of the most infectious dance music you'll ever hear

He has performed throughout Europe, the U.S., China and Japan
and created soundtracks for circuses, plays and performance art
spectacles in museums and galleries.
Rusty is currently working live with Queer and Transgender Bounce
superstars like Big Freedia, Katey Red and Sissy Nobby,
while maintaining a dedication to musical and artistic activism
through his not-for-profit New Orleans Airlift Project
(www.neworleansairlift.org)
He loves to tour with Bounce rappers and dancers
and whenever possible tries to bring the new and familiar
faces of Bounce along for the ride.
Past acts range from new breed rappers like Lucky, lou da Greatest
and Fly Boy Keno to old school heroes like Katey Red and DJ Jubilee,
plus dance teams like the Game Ova Boys and The Rumpshakers.

This is what Mad Decent said about Phat Deuce
on their site before I fell for his high quality
supa hard kick drum kasbar style productions.
"One of the reasons the we started the Jeffree’s
was to shed light on little or unknown producers
and this is a prime example.
At the time of writing this Stockholm’s Phat Deuce
has 46 followers on Soundcloud
which is seems really odd listening the quality
of all his tracks. Diplo’s has been championing
“Bubble Di Sistem” as a secret tune in his sets
for a few months, so we had to put it out.
It’s exactly what you would expect from a hype
Diplo set, someone shouting in the background,
weird bubble sounds, and sweaty tribal rhythms.
Backed with another banger “Gangsta” comes packed
with high pitched squeeling synths of the good kind
complimented by a harsh cut off vocal chop that’ll
fit perfectly in any high energy set.
We love Phat Deuce, he sends us about 2-3 new tracks
weird ass tracks a week and after seeing his artwork
he replied that “it is the sexiest thing i have ever seen”
so we welcome him with open arms to our family.
